we love mexican food but it can be very hit and miss, here in bad homburg the restaurant El Dorado is excellent.
the atmosphere is typically mexican with quiet mexican music playing in the background.
the staff are extremely friendly and are constantly checking that all is ok. a bonus for us was that the staff spoke english. it wasn't difficult to understand the menu though.
excellent food, we have been twice and couldn't fault it.
a must try if you like this kind of food

While walking the street we decided to go have dinner to this restaurant. Although we didn't t have a reservation and it was completely booked, they found us a place. And I've gotta say it was really delicious, one of the best mexican restaurants in Germany. Loved it!

Had dinner with family here. My son, who is usually picky and quick to complain (overdose of greens, for example) hoovered it down. We had fajitas, rollos and fuego con carne, that was taken from the special menu. The taste was very authentic, and if you ask to make it hot, it gets done hot. The rice, which accompanies most dishes, tasted excellent too, not stale like in many Mexican restaurants.
And another highlight were the deserts. We tried the grilled bananas and the fried tortiallas with icecream. Excellent.
The total cost was very reasonable for the amount we had, and the service was very friendly. We will definetly come back.

The decor is impeccable, resonating the ambience of Mexico. My co-eaters have said it reminds them of an old hacienda.
The waiters and waitresses speak great english.
The food is very tasty and the portions allow you to enjoy it at leisure given the quantum served.
We recommend the nachos (though are good for two) and the ribs which are very authentic tex mex

The atmosphere is "south of the border melange" - but still tasteful. What is really tasteful is the food - probably .... no, without a doubt, the best Mexican / TexMex food we've had in Germany. We had their mole - with venison! - and it was elegantly cocoa-y and perfectly spiced: you could taste the coriander, ancho and other spices but it left a wonderful warm glow on your tongue... The service is family style (I think it's three generations... ), which means warm and friendly and informal.
BUUUUTTT (there's always a but, but in this case it's a small one...) it is definitely worth reserving a table, regardless of what evening of the week it is. OK, it's the second week of December, so there's a Christmas party here tonight (it IS the season...), but it's Thursday at 8pm and there's not a single table availalbe. We got lucky that someone didn't show...
So, in short - highly recommended. The next time we're in the neighbourhood, and need a meal (or have guests) we know where we're going!
