Description: You only get one life, so at least make it fun! Based on this very motto, the Stndige Vertretung recreates the relaxed atmosphere of a Rheinland brewery serving Klsch (strong pale beer), Flammkuchen (pizza-like tarts) and great German food in a setting where politics, prominent figures and chips all come together! The cuisine is described as good honest food offering plain home cooking, taking you back to the days of the Bonn Republic. The Stndige Vertretung has capacity for a good 220 guests, both with and without an interest in politics! In summer guests can sit on the summer terrace right by the historic canal. From 11 November every year the Northern leg of the Rhineland Carnival kicks off, and it's not just where exiles from Rhineland can let their hair down!

We spent a nice sunny afternoon here sitting outside in the courtyard. The beer was good - the food looked pretty generic pub-food but they did good flammkuchen. Service was as expected although one waiter was very nice and patient with my terrible German. Will go back for another afternoon with friends.

Definitely not worth the money. Food quite OK, German staples like Currywurst or Schnitzel, but not of exceptional quality. Nice memorials to Federal German history along the walls.

this is more a kind of a fast food restaurant for students! You get your food (German Schnitzel) in two minutes, it's o.k. but nothing you will miss. The french fries are horrible - don't even try them.

The STAEV is my favorite Restaurant.
Unlike many touristic Restauants in Hamburg they have selfmade Meals (Schnitzel and Currywurst not from the wholesale lieke METRO)
The Currywusrt called "Kanzler Filet" (favorite dish of fomer Kanzler Gerhard Schröder) is very very good. Also most of the other Dishes are good and the portions are large.

It's not a noble Restaurant and maybe not the right place for a romantic dinner, but it's a funny restaurant and a good choice if you go out with friends or if you want nice and good food for a very good price!!
For Lunch they have a weekly changing Menue with Meals from 7-10€.

We made the Christmaslunch of our Office there yesterday and all my colleagues were satisfied.
