“Good food, high prices, heating way to high.”
Reviewed February 1, 2011

The whole evening was spoiled by the heat. It must have been about 32 degrees! We're used to Italy, where they love to put the heating as high as possible in winter, but it has never been this extreme. Next to that the prices are to high. I think Nil used to be....

“understatement and sophisticated”
Reviewed December 30, 2010

Even though I am often in Hamburg, thinking I know most interesting restaurants, I was surprised when my friends took me to the restaurant Nil. The restaurant used to be a shoe store, and has been modified leaving some cool details from the past. The dishes are not exotic, on purpose, but made with ingredients from biologically grown vegetables and bio meat from "slow-growing" animals. I had a salad with delicious black-roots and wild boar with polenta. Next door Nil Nr. 6 opened, a food laboratory where you can book the kitchen and cook meals with-for your friends under professional guidance. Reserve, and have fun.

“great experience with private room at Nil”
Reviewed July 21, 2010

I recently threw a birthday party for 25 people in Nil #6, which is the private room with kitchen that adjoins the main restaurant. The whole party was planned remotely. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful in planning the menu, the wine, the decorations. The food was wonderful--right in the middle of white asparagus season. I had one of the best fish dishes I've ever eaten in Hamburg. it was a perfect evening. I can't wait to get back and eat in the main restaurant.

Actually three and half. Nice athmosphare. The food was good but lacked a certain kick or trick.
