'The proof is in the pudding'
As a regular customer, I still have to receive a dish I do not like. I love them all!!!- There are no compromises either- when it comes to choice or quality of ingredients, fantastic service or ambience. Admittedly, the décor is not 'très chic'- it needs urgent attention to attract younger customers. You get a nice view of the harbour and river Elbe. Food is traditional with luxurious ingredients - you get the real deal including caviar, lobster, foie gras, oysters. They even have my favourite: lobster thermidor. Deliciously decadent. Service is professional throughout- rest assured- there are no disinterested unqualified students as waiters here. This is the place for traditional gourmet fish dishes. Go on, spoil yourself!!

“Hopelessly devoted to its lobster soup”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

After reading through the positive reviews on TA, I set quite a high expectation for this resto - and it fully exceeded it!
the lobster soup is a must try item - taste is rich yet not salty - take the first sip and you gonna fall in love with it! I ordered grilled black tiger prawn and it was fantastic.
Service is great. If you manage to get a window table you will have a nice view on the Hamburg harbour.
Will definitely love to go again!

“Top of the top !”

It was a great surprise visiting this authentic old fashion fish restaurant in Hamburg. Food was excellent and service was superior. Creativity in dish design was terrific...and the wine list very extensive...I vote and hope come again... All the famous visitors of the city have passed frozen there... Do not miss this.

“Famous location since ever!”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

The fischereihafen restaurant is a must wenn visiting hamburg. I know the restaurant with the senior owner mr. Kowalske und now with his son. The locationis exelent, th style is typical 'hanseatic'. The fish is always fresh, well prepared accompanied by good wines. The service is stylish, discrete but friendly. You can see and meet verry good public. It is not cheap but the price is justified. In the summer tthe places on the balcony give an unique view on the incoming ships.
