Picturesque riverside location but a bit out of the way and a pain to get to if you don't have a car. Very nice building from the outside but rather faded and tired-looking on the inside. Our room clearly hadn't been hoovered in a while when we moved in, and the bathroom/shower unit in particular was a bit dated and not exactly sparkling clean. Very thin walls also - apparently it's a listed building and it's a major hassle to sort this out. Finally, the whole hotel seemed to suffer from a mosquito infestation! We stayed on the 2nd floor but we heard the rooms on the 1st floor are a bit nicer and perhaps more frequently used and cleaned. Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary, and overall we felt the hotel was overpriced for what it is.
In summary: Nice if you have a car, don't mind staying away from Hamburg city centre, and like to wake up by the riverside and watch the ships go by. Not so nice if you appreciate clean rooms, modern bathrooms, and indulgent breakfasts, like we do.
