Quirky little hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Large suite for 3 instead of a small triple room. Very pleasant lounge with complimentary tea & coffee. Great location close to the railway station & town centre. Excellent value for money.

I visit Hamburg around 3 times per year to go and watch HSV and stay in St Georg area as it is near the hauptbanhof, the single room i had was on the bottom floor and was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, the hotel has a 'living room' on the bottom floor and it was very stylish with old style furniture etc.
The local area is quite dodgy looking but 100% safe and there is the best chicken kebab in the world to be had round the corner at 'batman' turkish takeaway.
Having slept in by nearly an hour i had to dash out of the hotel literally 5 mins after awaking to avoid missing my flight and i ended up leaving with the room key and fob in my bag and the hotel were very understanding and are happy for me to have posted it back to them.
I will use this hotel everytime i come to watch my beloved Hamburger sv as the staff are pleasant and understanding aswell as the good rooms at a good price.

This hotel was quite close to Central Station, and was very comfortable. It was quiet, well furnished and the breakfast was more than adequate.

There were two draw-backs. The first is the area. We wondered why the receptionist gave us directions to get to the train station which seemed much longer than we thought would be the case. It turned out that she was trying to direct us away from the seedier parts of the town which lay between us and the station - sex shops, strip clubs and gay meeting points. These provided no interference with our stay.

The second was the "flaky" internet provided. We booked at the hotel partly because it advertised internet access in room. We had trouble logging in, and whilst the receptionist assisted as much as she could (even re-starting the server), she was unable to overcome the problem of the interent access simply disappearing after a few minutes of access. As I needed access for business purposes, this was a real issue for us. It persisted throughout our stay of three days.

Of relatively minor importance for us was that the hotel had no lift. This required us lugging our bags up several levels by stair.

Room tip: There is noi lift - ask for a lower level room id this is an issue.

Should you need to stay in Hamburg city centre and still have a quiet room off the busy streets full of traffic, this is the place. The room was clean and cozy, although a very small (I had a proper single room). The breakfast was excellent in a quiet dining room - a real treat compared to the rushing canteens in bigger hotels.

Nice Hotel, but not in the best area of Hamburg. We had a lovely room, nicely decorated and well appointed. Very comfortable bed, great shower, a good wardrobe and good size safe. Although the hotel wasn't in the best area, it was very well located to walk to points of interest, restaurants etc. Staff were nice and friendly and helpful.
