We came across Dialog im Dunkeln through Trip Advisor and were curious to find out what it was like.
Although we visited during the school half term holidays, I would strongly advise you book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially for non-German speakers, as there are only a limited number of tours in English.
The idea behind the project is to get you to experience day to day life through the eyes of a blind person. Equipped with canes, a blind (or partially slighted) guide leads you through different rooms and environments in complete darkness. Each room has new textures and sounds, and you are encouraged to learn to feel your way around.
They offer 60 minute and 90 minute tours, I would strongly recommend the latter! A very unique experience, one that certainly sticks with you after you have left.
