“WWII”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

A sad moment in history but a great monument in the honor of those who died during the WWII. Since a wing is in work is not worthed to climb to the roof. If you want to have a look from the above go to St Michael.

“St. Nicolai at night”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

We walked from the Rathaus area down to the harbor area and on the way stopped at this memorial. It is very awe inspiring at night although you don't have the guides that might be available during the day. There was no crowd at all. We walked around and took pictures and just absorbed the atmosphere. The ruin was impressive.

“Good - but currently under-going repairs.”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

A very-moving location. You can take a lift up the tower but half of it is currently closed off due to repair work. If you are fit and healthy (no lift!), try St. Petri Kirche nearby as an alternative nearby at 3 Euros.

Do visit the nearby archive. Well worth paying the small fee to see the horrific effects of bombing on the city.

Bells are played Thurday lunch-time.

“Interesting memorial”

Bombed church from world war II was left as it was after bombing. Powerful reminder of war's devastation.

“Beautiful views of Hamburg from the top!”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

A long, narrow stairway to the top but the views are worth it! Take the elevator down because the stairway gets crowded.
