Description: Tsao Yang at the Kempinski Hotel Atlantic is decked out all in white. The white theme continues throughout with just a few splashes of colour here and there, used to striking effect. Designed around the principles of Feng Shui, the well-being of guests is paramount. The restaurant's name means sunrise and it's like the sun coming up when the authentic Chinese cuisine appears on the pure white tables. Original Peking Duck shredded at the table, is one of the specialities of this restaurant at the Hotel Atlantic. The different menus offer a wide selection of dishes, all expertly prepared. There are always specials available, like lunch followed by a relaxing massage for example.

I was staying in the Vier Jahreszeiten, and I asked the front desk staff for a Chinese restaurant recommendation. They suggested the Tsao Yang, in the Kempinski Atlantic Hotel, and I'm happy they did. My companion and I both ordered the Peking duck feast, starting with delicious hot and sour soup and proceeding through several other courses including two different versions of the duck, and ending with a choice of desserts. The entire meal was delicious, and the setting was quiet and peaceful. The service was particularly attentive and efficient. I will return on my next visit to Hamburg.

I totally enjoyed dinner at Tsao Yang! Waiters were unbelievably friendly and nice! Food was delicious. Service was great! The following were so good: hot and sour soup, mushi shrimp, grilled spicy prawns, chicken fried rice, steamed sea bass.

The "Tsao Yang" is located in the "Atlantic" hotel. The food they serve is run-of-the-mill "germanized" Chinese food, not bad, but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is at least different from the usual Chinese restaurants, the service is friendly but could be a bit more attentive.

Having lived here a few years ago, left and now come back, this place is still the nicest Chinese restaurant i have found in Hamburg. The decor has not changed in 4 years, but it is still rather attractive.

The food is good- the dim sum was excellent actually. The Shanghai beef also good. The chicken with fresh ginger was not my favourite and will try something else next time.

The only large omission is crispy duck in pancakes although they do have peking duck served in three courses. For reason, i cannot find duck in pancaked anywhere here..

Service was a little sloppy, one of the chaps removed a half full bottle of juice and had to be asked to bring it back amongst other things.

Otherwise all in all a good meal.
