Convenient to the Strassenbahn to the Hbf, but also very quiet and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Everything very renovated and clean. This was a great place to sleep off the jet lag from my arrival in Germany.

Our first visit to Potsdam will not be our last, a very beautiful place with most friendly people and great restaurants, access to Berlin is very easy with the tram outside the door straight to the station. The hotel NH Voltaire was very good with very good rooms breakfast is substantial, secure underground parking on site is a plus.

The Hotel Voltaire is very well situated in the town to visit the historic attractions. We arrived at the train station and walked to the Hotel this took about 15 minutes, however the tram stops outside the hotel and is a good option in the rain. The hotel was clean and comfortable, our room was quiet and we were given coffee and tea making equipment on request. There was a small drinks fridge in which we could store a few items. The safe was easy to operate. We did not have breakfast as there were several good bakeries close to the hotel. There are two supermarkets on Brandenburger Str. which sell a good range of items and were open in the evenings.
We stayed for two nights in October. We arrived on Monday afternoon and most museums were closed as is common in Germany, however the New Palace is open on Monday and was shut on Tuesday. We decided to walk through the Dutch Quarter right opposite the hotel to the New Garden. This was most attractive and we easily followed a path along the lake to the Cecilienhof Palace. The Palace was closed but the hotel within the palace serves coffee and cake at a very reasonable price. It was good to eat and drink where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945. Photos in entrance of the Big Three - Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin.
On Tuesday we visited Park Sanssouci. This was an easy walk 10 minutes from the hotel. We purchased a Premium Day ticket for 19 Euro which gave entrance to all Palaces except the New Palace as it was closed on that day. There is so much to see that it was impossible for us to visit all buildings on one day. We recommend the Orangery Palace, the New Chambers and of course Sanssouci Palace.
Potsdam itself is very attractive, a good atmosphere. lots of eating places, good shops and lots to do.

The friendliest and most helpfull staff ever in a hotel situated right in the hearth of magical Potsdam with cafes, dinning, shops, local markets and beautiful parks, framed by the most fascinating buildings and monuments.
Transportation directly outside the door to the central station apr 35-45 min to Berlin. Despite the central location, the nights and mornings are quite and good for sleeping in. The cherie on the top is the free of charge wellness area on the top floor with sauna and steam bath.

There is a tram and bus station just in front of the hotel. A few station from Potsdam main station by tram 92 and 96. Generally most of the bus will go to the Potsdam main station where you can take S Bahn to Berlin.
The hotel room generally does not provide tea/coffee corner where you could make your own hot drink however they provide minibar and safe box . The room is generally clean but rather simple with the price you paid for the room. I use to enjoy 5 star hotel service with this room rate but again here is Europe.
