“Good Hilton in a fantastic location”
Reviewed June 6, 2010

Location is everything with this Hilton. Overlooking the river which has been regenerated over the past decade and has numerous bars and restaurants. Also a short stroll to the market square with its spectacular buildings.

Service was excellent with a cheery quick check in. The hotel is built around a huge Atrium which acts as the bar and breakfast area. We got breakfast included otherwise it was the typical €20+ Hilton buffet.

Car park underneath the hotel and was perfectly easy to use. Cost was €20 per day but you are parking right at the heart of a busy city.

Reception and atrium looked modern, rooms were not quite as new but certainly not old or tired.

Bremen is an interestring city with enough to see for a couple of days. It was lively and friendly on a nice spring Saturday evening in May.

Typical Hilton conveniently located in the heart of Bremen. If you have stayed at Hilton before, you'll know what to expect. On the downside, the room reeked of cigarette smoke although being non-smoking and the parking garage was a joke unless you happen to have a car no bigger than a Trabant. It was also quite expensive at € 20.

Does what it says on the tin in a courteous and pleasant manner. Great bar in the centre of the hotel, with great staff.

We have found the Hilton chain hotels to be somewhat hit and miss over the years, however this one is a "definite hit" as it has a really nice buzz about it. Back in Bremen for a short city break, we arrived late afternoon. Check-in was very busy despite having three staff on duty, the Manager immediately called for extra staff to assist. Corrina was very friendly, helpfull and efficient (it always impresses when a member of staff remembers your name throughout your stay) during check-in. Our room was reasonably sized with two 3ft. singles joined together. I love German hotels that give you two separate duvets. Spotlessly clean and having all the usual services. Good quality tea & coffee and well selected mini bar. Bath and shower with Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. Although our room was over the main road the double glazing was excellent. Two plus point for us , you can open the windows and the clothes hangers are "proper".
This hotel has a lovely atrium which doubles as a bar and breakfast room. Well presented breakfast buffet with good a choice of food. Hurrah! HOT plates for your cooked food. The staff were cheerful and efficient.
The position of this hotel is its crowning glory. Cross over the side road and you are down at the river, a very pleasent walk with some nice bars and restaurants situated on the bank. Turn left out of the main door for a short walk to the main square. Best of all, walk through the hotel and come out of the back door past the L'Oliva restaurant, and you will find yourself in the beautiful Bottcherstrasse. Small, quality gift shops, coffee shops and restaurants . Don't miss the Glockenspiel !!
Overall an enjoyable trip to this charming Hanseatic city, made extra special by an excellent hotel with friendly staff and good service. Highly recommended.

Stayed for two nights late in January. Great location (except for pick-up by car). Parking is a bit of a nightmare.

Food service was excellent; has very nice breakfast buffet, and the hotel's restaurant was quite good. Internet access is sub-standard and rather expensive (cost for two days what I pay for a month for higher bandwidth at home.)

Since when is cash not an acceptable means of payment??? Became an issue because I refuse to play the European's games with pre-authorized charges for 50-100% more than you can reasonably be expected to spend. One tires of discovering that your credit card has no balance left because hotels don't release their pre-authorized charges for several weeks. (Talk about milking the float!!)

We stayed at the Hilton in Bremen for 2 nights in December to visit the Christmas Markets; The hotel is about a 10 minute taxi ride away from the airport - the taxi cost just under 10 euro's. The tram stop is about 150 meters away, but we got a taxi to save the hassle, and as there were 3 of us not much difference in price.

The check in at the hotel was smooth and welcoming; as with other european hotels, you are asked to provide a credit/debit card for use against additional items on the room account.

The room was warm, which was welcome after -4 degrees outside, however the central heating is self controlled so could be lowered if needed.

The room was large with 2 single beds next to each other & a childs put up bed however even with 3 of us - the child is a large teen, so really a 3rd adult - it was still spacious enough.

The bathroom had a bath with over bath shower, and lovely bath and body products including shampoo and conditioner and body lotion (La source from Crabtree and Evelyn),

The bar is in an inner couryard with aglass roof. It is very stylish and a nice place for a night cap. Drinks cost 3.40euros for coke/soft drinks for .2l small bottles, 5.50 for a bottle of becks and approx 9euros for a cocktail. During happy hour - which is Monday & Thursday from 6pm - 8pm - selected cocktails are half price. This would be worth it - we missed it as we stayed Tueday - Thursday! The cocktails were very nice though.

There is a pool and a solarium, but I didnt use them; my friends did however but got a shock - there were several nudists swimming at the time. Not sure if this is standard practice or weather they were unlucky. Was a bit awkward for them though, as their autistic daughter needed sheltering from the scene! If you intend to use and dont want to have a nasty surprise, maybe check with reception for advice on if this is standard proceedure there.

All in all a delightful trip, and wouldnt hessitate to recommend either the hotel, the Bremen Christmas market or Bremen itself to any of you for a short break.

Bremen is a lovely town and it is really easy to find your way from the airport to the city via the tram. We were there in September and things did seem to close up early so possibly not the place for you if you are up for a wild one. The town was immaculatly clean and the people were friendly.

The hilton is well situated within easy walking distance of all the key areas within the town. The pool facilities are nice, although missing a jaquzzi. It was really quiet when we were there so we often had the entire pool to ourselves which was lovely. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The hotel bar was doing happy hour on some of the nights when we were there and this is worth looking out for as you get a good cocktail. However, drinks are very expensive outside of happy hour so I would steer clear.
