“Decent hotel”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We stayed here for the European Table Tennis championships in May 2013.
The staff are pleasant and helpful and go out of their way to help.
The breakfasts were quite good with a reasonable choice.
The room was tidy, clean and as it was on the back it was very quiet.
The corridors are like something from a Hitchcock movie, dark poorly lit and gloomy.
The beds were comfortable and restful.
Overall it was a reasonable hotel to stay at, convenient for the airport and the town , about 10 minutes on the tram to either. I would recomend a weekly tram ticket as it saves quite a lot of money.

Room Tip: Get a weekly tram pass, its cheaper than parking

This is Our first time in Bremen, We stayed for 3 nights, 2 adults and a child. we arrived at 9.30 in the morning , the lady at the reception was very nice and let us check in early although we had to upgrade the room as the room we booked through Expedia was only a standard room in the front of the busy road ,so we payed extra €15 a night so that we can have a quieter room away from the road.we are glad we payed the extra as they give as a big room with a little kitchenette, our little boy had a double bed.The room was nice and gave you all you need to sleep and relax at the end of the busy day ,that's what hotels are for. They have a good breakfast. Staff are friendly. The problem with people they want to pay less money as possible and expect to have a luxury, if you're not fussy this hotel is very good.

The hotel is only 3 tram stops from the airport or you can walk and 4 tram stops to the city centre or you can walk for 20 minutes. Cafe's, Chinese takeaway, supermarket, restaurant, kebab and pizza takeaway are only 5 minutes walk. The people who said its far from everything did not obviously explore the area.

We would definitely go back to this hotel again, WE LOVE BREMEN, a fantastic little city :)

I stayed at the Mercure Hanseatic in Bremen for a week. I have never been to Bremen before and I tend to stick with Accor hotels when visiting new places, as you usually know what to expect. That said, this hotel is more Ibis material than Mercure. The location is quite unfortunate (out of the centre and at a busy road junction with trams whizzing by every five minutes or less and the décor is old. I was initially given a single room (despite having paid for a luxury double) but this was rectified immediately. This particular room was renovated recently, which unfortunately meant it still smelled of paint. You do get some freebies on the luxury rooms but for example there's no fridge anywhere, therefore your complimentary Coke will be warm, which is not what Coke is meant to be served. There is a Tassimo coffee machine and cartridges for tea, coffee (the espresso is not bad for an automatic machine) and hot choc. Also free wi-fi and a LCD television. All in all, it's not bad, but for the next time I'd rather use the Mercure in the centre (which was sold out for my dates) or even the Ibis which, unlike this hotel, looks brand spanking new.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the car park. Not a nice view, but at least it won't face the busy street belo...

I stayed one night in the Mercure hotel, the room was really old and the noise of the street was really loud. The hotel is directly at a junction and you can alos hear the tram every ten minutes. The staff at the reception was nice. The bathroom was clean but also old. The breakfast was okay, the service okay. But overall, the hotel needs to have some renovation.

Close enough to the airport to walk, if you don't have a lot of luggage. Not too expensive. Quite OK room, but a bit warm with the sun in the afternoon. Could need a bit of re-decoration. Decent breakfast.

I regularly stay at both Mercure & Novotel hotels, you always know what to expect, clean, well maintained, good restaurant, good menu, all pretty standard stuff, but not here. This hotel was awful, the complete opposite of what I would expect. The place needs a complete facelift. I booked a privelage room, but just not worth it, the view from my window was over the car park and industrial area near the hotel, but that is not their fault. In the restaurant the menu had as many choices deleted as being not available as available and when I ordered the chicken salad I was told that it too was not available, how can any restaurant not have the ingredients to make a chicken salad, how difficult is it? I was booked for 3 nights, but checked out after 1, stay away!

It is very strange with hotel like Mecure has no TV signal during guests stay. Otherwise, for business traveller by car will be convenient way since there are free parking in the hotel and get to downtown Bremen is very easy by Tram.
