“Noisy, amazing breakfast, wonderful staff, no AC”
Reviewed July 22, 2010

First I want to warn people that this hotel is on a very busy street and quite noisy. I can sleep through most everything, but I'll admit it was difficult in this hotel. My companion wore earplugs.

Aside from that, it is a great hotel. We were here during a heat-wave and our room had no AC. They provided a fan, but it was still quite warm.

The hotel staff is wonderful! The front desk was very helpful with my numerous questions (e.g. best Doner stand, how to make appointments at the Badehaus, where is the grocery, do we need reservations for this or that restaurant, etc), and everyone, including the housekeeping staff, speaks impeccable English. They were patient with my German, and were very kind when I just gave up and switched to English.

The breakfast buffet is extensive and very very tasty. Coffee is at every table with sugar, sweetener and real cream. The buffet included all kinds of breads and rolls, cold cuts, dried meat, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, other veg, teas, cakes, chocolate cakes, about 10 different kinds of cereals including house and several different kinds of muesli and spelt, fresh fruit, fruit salad in syrup (likely canned), yogurts, cold milk, and many different kinds of juices (multi-fruit, tomato, orange, apple, etc...). Sausages, bacon, and scrambled eggs on all days except Thursday (meat-free day-- had tofusausages and no cold-cuts), and waitstaff came to the table every morning to ask if you'd like a boiled (hard or soft) egg. Great way to start the day. The breakfast is included in the room price, and I made sure to partake every day.

The rooms are a decent size for European rooms (I'd been in Paris the week before, so it seemed enormous), and incredibly clean. (The housekeeping staff is very nice and thorough-- even folded my PJs that I left crumpled on my bed one morning.) Our room had a small TV-- got 2 English channels: CNN & BBC news; 3 arabic channels, and several German channels. Also had MTV which was sometimes in English, sometimes in German. Our king-size bed was actually 2 twin mattresses on a king frame-- so there was a space in between. 2 large feather pillows, 2 twin feather comforters, and an extra non-feather blanket in the wardrobe (also had 10 wooden hangers-- very nice since we had business attire to hang). Many wall outlets, and free wifi-- ask at the front desk for the code. It is not a secure network, so I do not suggest banking and such, but very good for e-mail and looking up info on the area.

I would stay here again for the cleanliness, breakfast, and amazing staff. I would probably request a room off the street, though, because of the noise. Any try not to travel during an unusual heat-wave next time.

I can't comment on the price because it was part of a conference package. Balancing out the wonderful service with the noise, however, I think 100-125Euros would be reasonable.

This hotel is ideal for visting the xmas markets. It s very clean and warm, the staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very nice and plenty to fill you up for the day whilst walking around the city. Hotel is very easy to reach from the airport. There is a small cosy bar a few doors away from hotel which is lovely for a night-cap. I would stay here again when visiting Bremen.

I stayed at this hotel as a family of four in February for one night and for another night a few days later. The hotel gave us a good deal on the price. We were given two different rooms for the both nights and they were not just one room but two rooms with a little kitchen space, an apartment really, very spacious and impressive.

The breakfast was excellent, I could not describe everything, as there were that many things to choose from but there was something for everybody and they provided bags to take away too. The location is again excellent, just a two minutes walk to the main station and central to everything else in Bremen, the staff were very friendly also.

There was noise from people singing in the street on a Saturday night in the early hours of the morning but it did not spoil our stay, what a cosy hotel.

Spent 1 week in Bremen at this hotel. Great value for money, very clean and comfortable. However, hotel is located in city centre on busy street near to railway station. Trams and other street traffic pass by outside day and night making it very noisy. If staying here i would ask for a room at the rear of the hotel which would be quieter. Great buffet breakfast and hotel offers a free lunch bag from the buffet.

Stayed at this hotel 1st/2nd July and found the room small but clean and tidy. Very close to the shopping and sightseeing areas but beware, ask for a room at the rear of the Hotel. My room overlooked the street and the noise prevented sleep until about mid-night. Breakfast good with varied selection. If going again would probably try a quieter location.

The location was very good. It's very easy to get there from the airport. We got a suite as a familyroom for 5. It was worth money. Breakfast was excellent.

This hotel is a must. From the airport to the town it is exactly 11 minutes on tram no. 6, which stops outside the main train station and the hotel is across the street. First impressions were, "oh dear small reception area and small lift" and then our hallway looked like a hostel (brown carpet and navy walls) but it was all very, very clean. Our room however was absolutely wonderful. We had 2 twin beds which reclined up or down, a huge spotlessly clean bathroom, TV, tea and coffee facilities, fridge and they even leave cute biscuits on your pillows. We were on the top floor, (5th) and could hear some crowd noises at night but only slightly and definetly not loud enough to disturb your sleep. Most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, even better than 5 star hotels I've stayed in. The staff cannot do enough for you and it was a real pleasure to stay here. Once you exit the hotel, it is literally a 5 minute walk from the town centre and xmas market. The town itself is the friendliest place on earth!! This hotel is worth it's weight in gold!!
