As I mostly have to stay in chain hotels for my work, going to Hotel Classico in Bremen with its individually themed rooms is an extra treat. Very comfy bedding, excellent heating/cooling and very clean rooms at prime location - at the central market square near the Bremer Stadtmusikanten. Prices though very reasonable and in line or even below what you would pay for a similar chain hotel in Bremen. Breakfast is extra but reasonabliy priced and prepared fresh to order with table service. Very friendly staff, always making me feel welcome and taking care of room preference if available - though I like the 'Buena Vista Social club' room best, best choice if you want silence is a room at the upper levels as you are centrally located in Bremen and it can get bit noisy from nearby cafes in evenings.

Room Tip: Have a room at upper levels if you want a quite room

Terrible service, waited a while to check in. There was no check in staff available at the tiny check in desk. A waiter from the restaurent showed me the room but had no clue about anything in the room except he showed me how to lock the door from inside. Asked for an iron, first person said they didn't have one. Called reception who sent someone with an iron but when I asked about ironing board the guy looked at me like I was an alien before suggesting I do it on the table. Nobody speaks English, hardly any German speaking staff either. Room is nice and sufficient size for one person. Very clean and well lit. Great location but service lets everything down.

Great Location in the heart of the old town in Bremen. Step outside and you were at the Dom and Rathouse. The room was O.K. on the small side. Each room is themed, we were in the "Opera" room. A bit twee, a more comfortable lounge chair would have been appreciated instead of the tiny red velvet barrel chair.
Parking was a worry, even though it said it was available behind the hotel, it was a parking station two blocks away. We had a bit of trouble finding out where to go due to our lack of German and staff's limited English. You could park for a bit to drop off bags outside the hotel.
Would recommend the hotel as a good place to stay if you want to visit the sites or go shopping in Bremen.

Room Tip: Stop outside hotel to drop off bag. Ask for a room facing square if want view of Rathaus and Dom

First the positive aspect: das Hotel is located directly in the center of the city, but very quiet in march. Nearby brewery and pubs are no prob for the night, maybe for headache next morning. Tram station to "das Viertel" in 2 minutes reach (Tram 2), WeinCafe "Engel", Ostertorsteinweg 31, best place for a good glass or like me for a bottle and a snack - you have to be there.
Hotel Classico is not a hotel as common, the reception is in a ground floor cafe, no warm welcome by staff (phone call with another guest while showing me my room), the rooms are in upper floors. Felt like in a residential building, no hotel.
The ceilings are designed different in every room, in my room were baroque angels on blue sky, whoever likes it, me not.
The refrigerator was so noisy, I had to pull off the switch to get some sleep at night.
Next time I'll prefer a normal hotel, this is less personal than one of the international hotel chains.

The hotel is in the very city center, which is the perfect location if you are visiting the town. Rooms are very nice, each one decorated in a different way, really cozy and quiet.
Breakfast á la carte was also a nice experience.
Service a bit slow but friendly and nice
Great value for money

Probably the most expensive hotel we stayed in on our recent trip. We stayed on the top (5th) floor (alcoves for windows). Elevator worked great. Bathroom was exceptionally nice but room was rather small for three. Third bed was a pullout lounge chair and rather hard. The room was styled in baroque but we weren't particularly interested or impressed.

What we liked was the location. We had taken the boat back from Bremerhaven that landed at Martin's Way on the Schlacte. Just went through the tunnel and took a left into the narrow winding streets and found our way to the hotel in less than 10 mins.

Easy to catch the tram on the marketsquare. We went to Spreicher XI (Waller Ring), Beck's Brewery (Westerstrasse) and the Hauptbahnhof from this location. Be aware that the trams have different types of boxes on board to pay fares - some only use Ecards; some take cash. All locations easily accesible. Tourist office particularly near (across the Marketplace and up near the Church of Our Lady and the Ratskeller).

We also ate several times at the Classico Restaurant. Excellent service and food. Try some of their desserts.

Room Tip: Enjoyed the church bells. The sun rarely went to bed - up at 5:30 and still going after 9:00! Clos...
