We tried out this place rather spontaneously on a friday night, being hungry and having arrived in Berlin rather late. We did not regret our choice. Although the place was pretty packed at 9 pm, my girlfriend and I had no trouble finding a seat. This is not the place for the romantic candle light dinner, as it is rather big and a little noisy. We ordered Buletten with Bratkartoffeln (two fried mince meat burgers with fried potatoes), a combination not shown in the menu, but readily served nonetheless. The potatoes had a little too much salt, but the stuff was delicious in a rich way (you'd love your german mum to cook like that). So, although the place is arguably a little touristy, it is a good starting point for your first bites of typical Berlin food. Portions seemed small and turned out quite massive. They also serve their own beer, which we liked a lot. Service was friendly and quick and handled the masses of guests remarkably efficient. Recommendable, indeed!
