This is a restaurant that thrives on one time visits. With so many good places to eat in Berlin, don't contribute to the false credibility of this place. Located on a main corner of a popular higher end shopping area, it is listed in tour books such as Fodors. While it might look like locals in the place, it is a very high population of tourists... wrongly influenced.
The food was barely passable. My wife had a salad (which was good) and putanesca. I had watery but ordinary minestrone followed by tasteless gnocchi in a tomato sauce. All of that plus a half litre of wine for 44 euros. As we finished, and asked for the bill, the waiter stated three times that the check "did not have tip". Not to fault him too much, as he did provide decent service, but that is just inappropriate. They do rely on tourists and they don't care what you think. They know you aren't coming back and there are plenty like us coming in the door.
