We went there the first night in Berlin and we had a three coursesmeal with excellent food and wine. The waiter was very professional and helpful. I had a very good little sallad to begin with and then a delightful bouillabaisse with different fishes and shellfishes. They had a lot of nice desserts and my husband and I shared two excellent which were among the the best we have eaten in years.

We very much enjoy the setting of the place. Great art on the wall, friendly and professional service. Having weighed the food we eat is also great fun. We also enjoy mediterian food and here we got it all. Sharing all the deserts gave us a lot good lauphs. We like this place, because being there is a good experience.

Not the best but surely a place with a personality. And therefore it's become the place to visit when in Berlin.
This "personality" i.e. not the easiest or the usual covers everything; food, service, staff, prices and those abstract paintings that cover every wall.
Try it and see if it fits your taste.

While visiting friends in Berlin we went to this Greek and Italian taverna. Had few, but good, German and Italian wines on the winelist, and lots of Greek wines. It is a restaurant with ambitions, and quite a few visitors are "chic". Friendly service. Didn't try any starters, just main course and dessert. Main course, veal chop, was excellent with "pfifferlinge"/chantarelle mushrooms. Dessert, chocolate mousse and pannacotta much too sweet. All in all we had a good night at the taverna.

The ambiance was amusing, with the wild assortment of art frame-to-frame on the walls, and the young waiter was respectful and attentive. But the prices were a tad high for what was very ordinary fare-- rocket leaves already spoiled around the edges, bland parmesan, salty ravioli of 'mystery' vegetables. In and out in less than 30 minutes--fitting with whatever images that phrase brings to mind. Certainly not four star.
