My boyfriend and I visited Berlin last year and found Captn Schillow in one of the recommend places to visit leaflets. It was quite difficult to find as it is a little out of the way but once we got there it was amazing! When we arrived we were asked if we had made a reservation and when we replied no the waiter looked slightly concerned. We worried that there might have been no room and were about to leave when he called us back and began to rearrange tables just to fit us in! We also didn't speak any German when we visited (aside from the usual hello, please, thank you and goodbye) and when we got there we found that it was a very traditional German restaurant with only one waiter who spoke English and no English translated menu. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic! He brought us the specials board and talked us through what everything on the menu was, he also asked us what we would like to eat and then recommended dishes for us based on what we liked. We both had a traditional smoked fish dish with potatoes and it was lovely, amazing quality and value for money. It was a fantastic meal and the atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful, we were made to feel really welcome and the waiter was amazing!
