Wouldn't class this as a restaurant more like a cafe. Not much in the way of seating, Staff very polite and cheerful. Food tasty but not amazing, I had the mutton saag, it was nice but not a lot of meat. But for the price you cannot complain . Great for people on tight budgets! Becks only 1.80 euro

Don't let the first impressions get you wrong. This is a tiny spot which looks very cheap and the food is indeed some of the cheapest we had in Berlin. The starters (Papads, chutney, ghobi (cauliflower) pakora) - were... Well... Not so good. But then came the Malay Kofta, Vegetable Biryani, roast chicken, champignon curry - and they were delicious! Service was a bit slow but as friendly as can be. The menu says "fish special" but it seemed like they never had any fish. Still we, family of four including 2 teens, licked our fingers - after eating too much...
A word of caution - dont order too many dishes at the same time since the tables are very small!

We chose Ashoka while looking for a cheap place to eat. The food was OK, although I've had better. Nevertheless I highly recommend the place for ones watching their budget - the only cheaper food we found in Berlin was a Doner Kebap stand:)

This is a great place to have real Indian food in friendly, comfortable surroundings. Definitely not posh, but perfect if you're on a budget!

Speaking as an Englishman who loves his curry, whether in the UK or in Mumbai, I think this is the best curry house in Berlin. OK, they maybe ought to invest in a Tandoor, but even without this, you will not be disappointed if you love real curry, both vegetarian and non-veg. The restaurant itself is cosy, with seats outside in the Summer, staff are friendly but sometimes overworked, Hindi is spoken, so you will feel really at home if you love India.
