“coffee and cake old Berlin way”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

I believe that every city has a cafe that is similar to Fassbender - it is kinda like Cafe Blikle in Warsaw or ice-cream parlour in London Fortnum and Mason ... a place that has been going for ages regardless of ever-changing fashions and trends. So if you're looking for an old-Berlin charm go to Fassbender, have a cup of hot chocolate, a piece of chocolate cake and soak in the old-school service with old-school attitude.

“Chocoholics' paradise”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

We wandered around the vast emporium of chocolates marvelling at the huge chocolate replicas of famous Berlin buildings, such as the Reichstag. We shopped till we dropped for chocolates to take home, from a huge array of different varieties. In the restaurant upstairs we had difficulty in deciding on which variety of hot chocolate drinks to choose from and which of the delectable chocolate cakes to accompany them.
Fassbender & Rausch joins the pantheon of must-visit foodie destinations of Europe!

“One in a Thousand? Yes”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

A beautiful restaurant in an attractive building, with a good view of the Gendarmenmarkt is a good start. The selection is quite large and rivals or surpasses any chocolate cafe in Vienna. That says a lot. I can think of only one in Wissembourg, France that surpasses it in the artistry of the offerings. Several chocolate cafes equal it in taste. None come close to the chocolate architectural models in the ground floor store. The cafe service was quick, efficient, but did not match the elegance of the food. The food prices were a bit higher than in most cafes, but considering the quality, the prices are fair. If you know and love chocolate, Fassbender-Rausch is not to be missed! We went at noon and got a window seat.

“Don't miss!”

A temple for chocolate lovers and even for those who don't.
Lovely crew with great smile, super-deliciout truffles (don't miss the coffee truffle!),
chocolate that makes us lick our fingers, and a very beautiful, decorated place with a looooot of chocolates.

Go visit them in your first day on Berlin, you will surely return for more!

“Don't miss this!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

I had an iced coffee topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, as well as a small gateau. I died and went to heaven! There were also many charming statuettes made out of chocolate- like a replica of the Titanic! Great for buying gifts.
