Very reasonable prices for excellent chocolate choices. Great chocolate creations which rival museum quality. Best selection of fresh truffles anywhere. Check out restaurant upstairs which adds chocolate to all it offers.

We had never heard about this place, despite thinking ourselves quite into chocolate, so when we read about it, we had to go see what it was.

When you walk into the store on the ground floor you are amazed by the size of it all, the huge chocolate sculptures, the chocolate counters that seem to go on forever. Then you take the elevator up one floor, and you see a counter where there are chocolatiers working -. very nice! But then, you move into the restaurant part of the place, and the decor is so bad, the room has terrible accoustics, so it is very loud... The service was ok. The hot chocolate was ok, but I make better myself at home.

The menu had some very interesting dishes on it, but we did not try any of it (we had had a late breakfast..)- but the way the menu seemed to incorporate chocolate into savoury dishes seemed really interesting and maybe worth a try,

The store downstairs totally worth seeing. The restaurant upstairs, I do not know..

A wonderful place to visit looking out onto the Gendarmenmarkt. Good old-fashioned service from Herr Bottcher in the cafe. I can recommend the "weisse Schokoladenmousse Sinfon" - the name says it all - gorgeous creation. The hot chocolate is so tasty and being able to chose the cocoa content and flavouring adds to the pleasure. 2 hot chocolates and 2 cakes came to 18,45 euros - not expensive for the quality.
Suitably refreshed you hit the shop downstairs - take the credit card because you will definitely want to spend, spend, spend!

Not only didn't we have it where I grew up, they don't have it where I live now and this is a bigger mystery than Big Foot, cause we all love chocolate and cold drinks so why did I have to wait for Europe to get multiple chances to try this fabulous drink, both with ice cream and without? Fassbender-Rausch has some of the best Iced choc0oate you could ever hope to taste. And I'll definitely be there to have it again and possibly sample some of their other treats, as soon as I lose those extra pounds I got on and fatten up my bank account for another trip. If you like chocolate, then you simply can not miss trying this place.

Everything you could possibly want in chocolate of the highest quality and a huge variety of types and flavors. Sculptures, truffles, with alcohol and without, with nuts, in layers, and at least six different types of marzipan alone. This is one chocolate shop not to miss. The prices are high but affordable if you don't over do it.
There is also a cafe upstairs that is definitely worth visiting but that seems to have a separate listing so look for more there.
