Go to this cafe if you can, spotlessly clean, great service and above all fantastic selection of different hot chocolate drinks to enjoy, with if you can force it down, a gorgeous cake too.

Would agree with previous posts, not much difference in price from your usual chain coffee shops but infinitely better.

You may have to queue, however this is not too bad you can watch chocolates being decorated while you wait :-)

“Willy wonky eat your heart out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

The reviews tell the absolute truth, it's no wonder this place is Berlin-famous. From the minute you walk in you want to eat everything in sight, from the delicately arranged singles to the large slabs on display. Don't miss a chance to visit if you're in the area, and even if you're not make the journey, you won't regret it.

“Not just for chicks, but it helps... ;-)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Three girlfriends decided to go to 'the chocolate restaurant' in Berlin. After being on our feet and walking all over all day, the quiet, warm and comfortable ambient of Fassbender and Rausch was like a balm for our souls. We felt quite lucky to be seated right away, without requiring a reservation and the service was prompt, smiling, polite and friendly. We all decided in favour of the chocolate fondue - the other two dark and for myself, milk. The fruit was totally fresh and beautifully presented. Plenty of chocolate, almost too much to eat. (ALMOST!) ;-) We were really happy that our server never made us feel like she needed our spot. We were able to savour our fondues, special coffees and hot chocolates without any pressure. I think that the capacity of the restaurant is ideal and that enough people are there for different purposes that it just works! Some people wanted to just drink a hot chocolate or cappucino, some proper German "Kaffeetrinken" complete with Kuchen or Torten, some wanted the full fondue treatment, and some just a cup of fruit tea and a wedge of cake... It was a really nice atmosphere for three tired but happy tourists to enjoy each others' company, and the wonderful chocolate. My friends who were returning to North America, found excellent gifts to take back home in the shop on the main level. They also had really nice small items for a very reasonable price - little lucky lady bugs and lucky pigs in bright foil wrappers. The best part was though, that the foil wrappers wrapped up good chocolate that is actually delicious, and not some brown coloured cocoa flavoured discount chocolate... so, back home, a little bit further south in Germany, the lady bugs were very much appreciated, after first being (somewhat) politely turned down... ;-) I would highly recommend this restaurant for a girls' day or evening out, but I think it would also be really nice for a romantic afternoon or evening for couples. On a subsequent trip to Berlin with my partner, I couldn't remember the name of the restaurant, and so we couldn't find it again. He was very disappointed, being a big chocolate fan himself...

“Mmmmarzipan”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

This is a really nice, gourmet choclate shop and not as expensive as you'd expect at all. The chocolate models are a thing to behold, as are the cabinets that run the length of the shop, full of truffles and marzipan!

“Chocolate everywhere !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Went in for lunch and we were very impressed. Everything on the menu has chocolate in it. Even the small bread and tomato dip did not escape the chocolate inclusion. We both had a lovely lentil stew which had chocolate in the sauce and it was lovely. Coffee was great and the abundant choice of cakes looked very nice.

Shop is very impressive with several Berlin landmarks made out of chocolate. Prices are very reasonable and there are a great choice of products on sale. A must visit in Berlin !!
