We went her specifically for the wienerschnitzel and the fact it listed home ingredients. It was a short walk (10 min) from our hotel on the day we arrived. It was a Wednesday and it was not a problem as we made reservations months ago. The main dish was excellent and our service was excellent too. The prices are reasonable and it was a great way to start off our time in Berlin. Additionally I had a nice size German Bier!

This a great little place for a lovely brunch. Not cheap but excellent quality as you can see from the picture, both food and drink.

My husband picked this restaurant and made a reservation for our first dinner in Berlin, hoping to impress me with a seemingly well reviewed (on Tripadvisor) and kid-friendly (we specifically searched for that) fine dining restaurant.

This restaurant does look pretty impressive with its sleek and polished modern interior. The server looked surprised to see us walking in with a toddler but she was polite and friendly to us throughout. Given very limited options on the menu, I ended up picking a fish dish as my entree after much hesitation. That turned out to be a bad choice. The portion was in good size but it was so salty that it actually burned my throat. I could not even feed it to my toddler. We paid a high price ($$$) for something absolutely disappointing.

Later in the evening when we were about to leave, we saw a huge coach ferrying in dozens of rowdy foreign visitors. What did that imply?

We didn't feel bad about this dining experience until much later. After dining in other restaurants in Berlin, all the more we felt that it was a rip-off dining here. We had better quality foods elsewhere at more reasonable pricing.

While Tripadvisor seems to rave about this restaurant, Yelp thinks otherwise. Do travellers share different taste bud from the locals? When it comes to restaurant reviews, I tend to agree with Yelp. It is probably more prudent to do your searches on both websites.

We asked our hotel where we could find a neighborhood bakery since we far prefer to have breakfast at one rather than the normal hotel breakfast. This was the recommendation and we couldn't have been happier. The choices are great; the service is very good; families gather on the weekend days; moms and kids as well as gents are around on week days. There is seating outside as well as nice and specious seating within.

We decided to eat our last meal in Germany here because of the traditional inspired menu and we were so glad we did. Everything was homemade and fresh, they use local ingredients which we loved. Even though the menu seemed a bit classic each dish had a special twist that made it modern and refreshing. The space is minimalistic but warm and it is located in Mitte which is central to all of the sites. And the prices are so reasonable for the quality of food you get. Highly recommend!
