Decided to try this restaurant based on others reviews and my desire for pork knuckle. My wife and I were not disappointed. Did not have a reservation, but was lucky enough to get the only remaining table. Several others came in after us without reservations and were turned away. Service was at the right time. Owner/hostess spoke English and they have an English menu along with their German menu. Pork knuckle was juicy and came with the crispy skin and a wonderful brown gravy. Fried potatoes and cabbage salad were the sides. My wife had the "Fillet Pot", beef and pork tenderloins with fried potatoes and vegetables with bearnaise sauce--quite tasty. Interesting neighborhood for a walk.

Well we were delighted to be there but we were disappointed with the potato soup followed by a greasy main course. The service can't be appreciated either. On the whole an experience we wouldn't like to have again. Highly over rated on TA.

Considering the raving reviews we were expecting a nice dinner.
Instead we had the most dispointing dinner of our stay in Berlin.
Service is slow. The place is small but in order to get another beer with the entree we had to wait 20 minutes. The meal was over when the beer made it to our table.
The potato soup was the worst we had in Germany.
The food was mostly uninspired, almost tired and certainly greasy. No real kick.
Mostly tourists.
The are many better options nearby.

We ate two families with teenagers, the service was first class and the food was excellent. The servings are very generous but even more important the level of the cooking was simply incredible.
A must to visit on every trip to berlin.

We had read reviews on here and were staying at a hotel not far away so went on Tuesday but it was fully booked, so we booked for Thursday, our last night in Berlin and it was great. The service was very welcoming, menus in English, my husband had game and I had the most delicious pork. We didn't feel rushed and the beer was a good price. Mains ranged from about 13- 20 euros. Thank you to the great staff working there.
