On arrival Hasir promised much. You are greeted with the sweet smell of a flaming grill, and pictures of the Berlin hoi polloi that line the walls are punctuated only by traditional Ottaman detailing.
However, following a lengthy wait, the food left me feeling bitterly disappointed. A small portion of under seasoned lamb pieces and a singular kofta style minced kebab were served with the most basic of salads - the sort of which you would expect with a three euro donner. When we had asked for dips, which arrived with only two mouthfuls of food left to consume, they tasted like the main ingredient was the cheap ground black pepper you find on the shelf of Morrisons. The bread could only be described as embarrassing.
I'm a big fan of Turkish food, and approach a meal with genuine excitement, but this left me as flat and deflated as the sorry excuse of bread. To add insult to injury, when I paid the waiter, he kept a 20% tip in his wallet before staring at me hard and saying 'ok?' Avoid like the plague.
