First, there are many cafes named Einstein in Berlin so be sure you find the Stammhaus, tucked away on what appeared to be an elegant small house on a quiet street. We were able to eat in the garden which was wonderful. Two words: wiener schnitzel, possibly the best in Berlin. Outstanding, don't miss it, enormous portion but deliciously thin and light. My spouse enjoyed her fish as well.

“No longer a fan”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

I was such a big fan of Cafe Einstein Stammhaus for its great German/Austrain food, especially Kaiserschmarrn.

However, Today would be the last time. I went there is afternoon for lunch. There are not that many guests but there was only 3 waiters. I still have to wait for 20 minutes to be able to get the menu, 40 minutes for the food to be served and another 25 minutes to be able to pay.
I looked around and realised that i am not the only waiting, all the guests are waiting for thier services. At one point i was shock seeing the waiter started to throw the menus on the table of the guests who keeping and waiting for the Menu.

In addition, the restaurant manager just walking around with his noise up in the air doing basically nothing.

Being in hospitally business for a long time.... their system over there just a fail.

I really do hope that this would change....

“Vintage place. Worth visit - 200%”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

We came here for their specialty according to Tripadvisor - apple strudel. It was as it was said - excellent. Though I would better add a ball of ice-cream to make it best ever...

A waiter who served us that night forgot to bring me my cappuccino that's why I can't tell you about the coffee :(

But you will forget all small flaws in this place. It's because its atmosphere. It is one of the places where you come for surroundings rather then food.

It's located in a separate mansion and has a great terrace. Inside you will see interiors like it's still 1920s. Very inspiring. It must be great to come here for a few hours for a long meeting with a friend or the book.

“Unbelievably cool coffee house!”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

We LOVED this place. Take a step back into 1920s Europe...with the Intelligentsia sipping espresso and reading the paper while others unite in a spirited after-work debate. Poetic, yes, but it was awesome! We sat in the back under the trellises and had coffee and dessert. I had an espresso...delicious (hard to get a very bitter taste to take so sweet) and homemade strawberry yogurt and my wife had coffee and a cheese streusel. We loved it. Not a cheap place for just coffee, but definitely worth it! Take an hour or two, bring a book, and relax!

“Business dinner”

In general nice food if you like the german kitchen. The house is very charming and with a lot of history to it!
