“incredible overlooked collection”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Why is this museum so empty? Maybe because it is less spectacular than others on the Museuminsel, maybe because it takes the longest walk from the city-center. The beauty of the collection is breath-taking and unforgettable. The scarce visitors leave enough room and time to savor an incredible exhibition.

“Beautiful and peaceful”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

If you're visiting the Berlin museums and you want to get away from the tourist crowds, this is a great place to go. The building itself is attractive, right at the end of the Museum Island. Inside there's an extensive collection of religious art of all kinds, including sculptures in marble, wood, metal and terracotta, and paintings.

There's a posh cafe in a great position overlooking the Great Dome on the first floor, and a good bookshop with some English language books.

“Excellent museum”
Reviewed May 5, 2012

A really nice museum to visit, the building itself is very impressive. The range of exhibits are very interesting. The cafe is brilliant with very helpful staff. Sitting overlooking the main entrance brings a nice atmosphere to a coffee break.

“A day in the Renaissance Period”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

I really enjoyed the Bode Museum. The exposition at this time on the Renaissance Portraits was really interesting. I really appreciated the audio/video guides on Ipod Touch. They were really useful and easy to use. The information through the whole museum are easy to understand and to read. Beautiful architecture and nice employees.

“quiet time”
Reviewed April 25, 2012

While the other museums were crowded with school groups, this was empty. Beautiful exhibits delightfully shown. Some breath taking stuff. Medieval and byzantine, one mosiac apse from a church in Ravenna, Italy. Treasury items fascinating workmanship and representation of Medieval thought. An El Greco Mater Dolorosa, great! Again, costly get a museumpass from your hotel or tourist info spot.
