The location of Hommage is really good, close to transport and K'dam. Casual and easy to come and go but I was disappointed with the room. In the bathroom the shower head was at waist height which is extremely odd so you have to hold the shower above your head. The floor gets wet with every shower because the glass screen only covers half the gap...very fancy but not effective.
I stayed in one of the premium rooms for an extra €20, which I did not think was worth it. The rooms are very basic, for example there is no wardrobe, just a fancy pole on the wall, no spare pillow or blanket. The curtains are very thin so the room is bright from very early and because the property has wooden floors everywhere, I sometimes found the noise disturbing.
Lots of murals, artwork, high ceilings which livens up the narrow corridor leading to the bedrooms.

I chose this hotel as I had been to Berlin before and wanted to be near the Kurdamm for the restaurants and shopping. ALso parking was important and I could get off street parking nearby (with advice from the hotel owners). It is a lovely old converted town house and the hotel is up a huge flight of marble steps, quite grand and you really feel part of the old Berlin. It is so central for walking and for using the metro and S Bahn so getting around is dead easy. There is also a really nice square only a few minutes away Savigny Platz which has fab restaurants and bars, and is nice a quiet.
Our room was overlooking the garden, huge high ceilings and very tastefully decorated in mutes modern grey and white - we felt quite stylish! Good bedding and obviously new bathroom, very modern and good water pressure. The only thing to remember about Germany is that everyone and I mean everyone smokes and although our room was a non-smoking room, in the lobby you can smell cigarette smoke - just a word of warning. The hosts were lovely, very friendly and will sit down and show you the map and give pretty good advice on whats on and where. This is a little gem I think given the random nature of accommodation in Berlin, and this is one place I would stay again. We felt safe and looked after which was great.

The hotel is in a lovely, yet quiet, corner of West Berlin, just off Savignyplatz, and less than a block away from Kurfurstendamm. It's only two blocks away from the S-bahn, which you can take to the sights in the city. Roman and his family did a wonderful job making us at home. But the design of the place is fantastic. It even smells like an art gallery! Each of the rooms has distinctive artwork. The rooms themselves are very sleek and the facilities are excellent. I strongly recommend for anyone staying in Berlin.

It is a family run boutique hotel in a very nice area in Berlin. You have lots of restaurants and cafes around and the main shopping street (Kufürstendamm) is just a minute away. Connection with public transport is also very very good.

The rooms are very clean and neat. Wish the doors would be a bit thicker as you can hear every word spoken from the rooms. Nevertheless, rooms are excellent and the beds are very comfortable. Aurelia takes good care of the guests and is very helpful with every request or question you might have. She found us a tailor, dry cleaner, etc. She also looked after us so nicely and made sure we felt comfortable at any time.

The breakfast does not leave you to have any open wishes! You have everything you need and more. It is being prepared with alot of love. I also like the artistic details this hotel has to offer. The concept is very well thought of and executed very well. You can also see that the hotel was furbished with love and care as it does not have the cheap feeling some four stars hotel even have.

I would come here again and would recommend Hommage a Magritte to anyone coming to Berlin!

Beautiful property, super charming and super clean. Owners are very welcoming and helpful. Location is just fantastic, a busy yet posh area of town with a of ton shopping, restaurants and cafes, several metro stops nearby and supermarkets, pharmacies, etc. Only a 10 minute ride to Tegel airport and within walking distance to several attractions. That being said, it would help if rooms were a bit more equipped so one doesn't have to ask (e.g., basket in shower, pen and writing pad in room, and a clock of some sort, etc.). Breakfast is the same everyday, but adequate and of high quality, don't miss out on the delicious croissants! It would be nice though if guests were allowed access to a fridge because kitchen is locked at night- haven't experienced this one before.
All in all, a truly gorgeous place with lots of character and very friendly and accommodating management. Strongly recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms facing garden offer nice views and outstanding sleep quality

Our trip to Berlin was made even more enjoyable and memorable because of this hotel. If you are fed up with being an anonymous face in a large soulless hotel chain then this is the place to stay. It is in an excellent location , minutes away from cheap efficient underground and train services, and surrounded by good places to eat and drink. What makes this small hotel so good is the very special way Roman and his wife look after their guests. Breakfasts were excellent, such a variety to choose from and all so fresh and tasty, exactly what you need before setting off on a days site seeing. Roman spent time with us everyday, making sure we had the best directions and plans for the places we wanted to see. He also sent us to a few places we wouldn't have found on our own and gave us a better view of the real Berlin. Nothing was too much trouble, such a refreshing change to a robotic receptionist. We loved the art work in the hotel and our room was very comfortable and nicely furnished. If you are going to Berlin stay here.

Hommage a Magritte is one and the only place where you can feel like home ... and even though you see people there for the first time in your life, you feel you known them since ever :) great interior design and very comfortable rooms! Delicious breakfast :) Great localization - near metro and great a restaurant. The host - Aurelia and Roman ... you can't imagine better one !!! Can't wait to go there again.
