“a Hostel similar to a Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

We were in a very big, clean and confortable triple room. The facilities are outside the room but it is very clean and there's no problem. The hostel is in a very good quarter of Berlin where you can take wonderful and cheap brunch. It's easy to access Kreuzberg, the night life area. The hotel can give you very good tips about the places to visit and to enjoy in Berlin (not only the monuments and touristic places that you will do in 1 day). We really loved the place and i hardly recommend it.

I loved this hostel!!!!
it is very comfortable, clean, silent, everything is organized!!!
comfortable bed with Egyptian linen yarn sheets, and it is in a delightful area with tree-lined streets, subway, and there are many interesting bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: this is a hostel, it don't have a swimming pool or fitness center... but the place is perfect f...

Nice hostel and very well located in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg. There are good eating options in the surrounding area and you can also rent bikes for 10 EUR/day nearby - something which is a very good investment (not an expenditure, mind!) in the German capital.
It's definitely not the cheapest place you can find and you have to share the bathroom. It's something in between a cheap hotel and an expensive hostel (no kitchen facilities, zum Beispiel). Nevertheless, I recommend it and I'll try to go there again the next time I travel to Berlin.

This hostel has so much potential but is instead a very basic hostel with no personality. But hey, $49 euros/night for a private double bed with communal shower/toilet, it is as expected.

Pros: Quiet at nights. Pretty clean, very large bathrooms and rooms, beds are comfortable and pillows/blankets are soft and clean, a 5 minute walk to U station (close enough to city center).

Cons: No elevator, our room was on the 3rd floor. Reception closes daily at 10pm and you have no access to living room, computer, or fridge for the rest of the night. Has bland furniture and bad artwork throughout hostel. There is only 1 computer for this entire hostel. HORRIBLE wi-fi connection.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 1st floor.

This was a good, clean, quiet hostel with basic but nice facilities. I had a light, fresh single bedroom with a very comfortable bed but minimal other furnishings. The shared bathrooms were across the landing but I never had to wait for one to be free. They were always clean, warm with good hot showers. Underfloor heating in the bedroom and bathroom is a nice touch.
I would have preferred the bedroom to include some basics like a clock rather than fancy colour mood lighting but that's just personal preference.

The English-speaking staff were very good in being flexible and accommodating when I arrived late at night after reception closed (due to flight cancellations). In contrast, during the days of my stay, the staff were often absent from reception and seemed too busy to be very helpful which was a shame.

The hostel is in a great location in the Prenzlauer Berg district of the city. The area has a fun, relaxed feel to it with loads of cafes, restaurants, shops and attractive streets to wander around. On the nearby East-West street Raumerstrasse there was a great selection of restaurants within 2 mins including burgers, tapas, Mexican and Italian.
The hostel is a 5 min walk down Pappelalle to the Eberswalder strasse U-Bahn station from where you can be at Alexanderplatz in a further 5 mins or so.

I would definitely stay in this area again, and at the Aurora hostel if it was available.
