“Beautiful Park often missed by the Westerners”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

Treptower Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Europe, yet it is often overlooked by Westerners. Typically, the tourists who visit it are from former East-bloc countries and the CCCP. It's not just the boulevard-style lines walkway, but the actual gargantuan triangular Soviet soldier's memorials that will blow you away. There's also the relief carvings along the sides that lead up to the tower. This should be listed as a historical landmark and it should be on the tourist maps. I highly recommend it!

“The locals love it, it's worth the trip”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Went on a Sunday so was very busy with locals soaking up the sun. Not quite as clean as the tiergarten in the city - but worth a wander if you want to see the Soviet War Memorial and soak up the sun. Beware on bikes - a lot of glass around

“One of the green lungs of Berlin - with a historic memorial site”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

There is hardly a place in Berlin without a historic memorial. So is the Treptower Park. Takes you a 10 mins stroll to get to the memorial site from the S-Bahn station "Treptower Park". This huge grave for some 7000 russian soldiers is both impressive and deterrent. You see fresh cut flowers laid on the statues and graves, you may see (russian) relatives thinking of their dead beloved.
Or you just go running in the park, board a boat cruising the lakes, sit on the grass and relax - and you hardly hear the humming city of Berlin.

“Not just the Soviet memorial”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

This is in fact a lovely place to have a picknick on the bank of a lake, with quiet and spacious surroundings. Locals like taking their dogs for a walk here, groups of youth get togather for a beer, families enjoy sunshine and a game of freesbi on a sunny day.
The Soviet memorial is certainly worth a visit for some picture taking, with Stalin's quotations (amazingly) still kept intact in both languages. Try to visit the place once on the May 9 for the complete impression about the Russia post-war memory.
