“Melia Again”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

Second time we've stayed here. Had to have room move due to building work but this wasn't an issue. Ideal position for exploring Berlin either on foot orby public transport. No need to do breakfast as many places to eat within metres. Staff very helpful. Drinks a bit pricey though. Managed to get great deal on Secret Hotel at lastminute.com for £320 for the week.

We had two level-rooms on this hotel and were very pleased with our stay. Check-in was fast and front desk was very service minded. The rooms were clean, comfortable and we liked the choices of pillows in the bed.

The level-rooms had a meeting place with refreshments, drinks and breakfast. A great choice if you don’t want the crowded breakfast rooms.

The hotel is near the S-bahn, U-bahn, shopping and some of the places you have to visit, like Brandenburg Tor :)

Would definitely come back to this hotel the next time I’m in Berlin.

Room Tip: The level rooms could be recommended.

This is an excellent choice while in Berlin. The hotel rooms are modern, clean, quiet and comfortable. The river view is a plus but not essential. The staff was very pleasant and always willing to help. No free Wi Fi which is disappointing in this day and age. The location is the biggest plus and reason alone to stay here. If you can’t or don’t want to walk there (Brandenburg gate, Reichstag, Museums) you can take the incredibly convenient public transportation which all seems to converge at or near this hotel. Fill up at the shamefully abundant Melia breakfast and you should last right through to dinner. There is a lot of building going on in Berlin right now, especially the former East side but it’s a fascinating city and the Melia is absolutely the base from which to explore.

We had 2 rooms - checked in on Jul 13 and checked out Jul 15.
Front desk staff were excellent overall starting from check-in to check-out. After a long flight from Newark, NJ - the front desk staff was a pleasant experience. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast were great too. I will definitely stay again in the same hotel the next time when in Berlin.

I spent about $200 for three days at this hotel, and it was a bargain. This hotel was amazing, the staff were great, but the rooms were spacious and beds were soft and comfy. A nice little gym at the top of the building too. The great part is you walk out the hotel, and theres so many shops around, a nice currywurst shop across the street, and your like a 10 minute walk to Brandenburg Gate. Also conveniently a train station is less than 5 minute walk from the hotel. I'll come back to this hotel if I ever go back to Berlin

Five families (total 20 pax) needed spacious, affordable, comfortable space in a good location in Berlin. We got a very good deal at the Melia and everything surpassed our expectations. Service was also good and not something you can rely on in Berlin. Breakfast at over E20 pp per day was prohibitive but we found plenty of great alternatives nearby. We probably spent the money we saved on sundowner drinks at the Tapas Bar. Slight negative was wifi connection cost E5 per device per day and needed a fresh password every day. Would thoroughly recommend though. Would def stay there again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to Brandenberg gate, the Museums, the Park, the Reichstag. The rooms are decent size with very comfortable beds. Lots of restaurants to eat around. Wifi was about 5 euros for 24 hours. Will definitely be staying here again
