For the price, this is, without a doubt, the best I have stayed in. The location is good, as has been said before, and the hotel itself is immaculate. We had a room on the third floor which had a lovely view of the river ( room 346) . It was spacious and comfortable, and had the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen! Shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, body milk and soap were provided, as well as shower cap, sewing kit, cotton buds, shoe shine, shoe horn, bathrobe and slippers. There was a " pillow menu", allowing you to choose your pillows, but I didn't really bother to find out how this worked, as the pillows on the bed were fine. TV had mainly German channels, but there was BBC World News and CNN. Breakfast was expensive, but the quality and selection made it good value, in my opinion. As well as the usual cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, juices, cheese, and ham, there were boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, meatballs, potatoes, tomatoes and baked beans. Fried eggs, pancakes, and churros were being made by a very pleasant young lady. The cold buffet had smoked salmon, Parma ham, pâtés,cream cheeses and salami. Cava was also available, so if you like a good tuck-in of a morning, this gets top marks. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and it was nice when at breakfast the young lady remembered we had had 3 tea and one coffee the previous morning. I would certainly return to this hotel, and would also use a Melia hotel in another city.

We stayed here for 4 nights and cannot fault this hotel. Modern, clean with good amenities. Easy walking distance to many sites including Brandenburg Gate. Train Station at the door which is convenient. The desk staff are very professional and provide excellent service. For those who want free wifi, join the melia club for free and the wifi is free. I highly recommend this hotel.

We arrived @ Schonefield airport & travelled to the hotel using the Airport Express train. Buy tickets @ the desk to the right as you exit arrivals, it was 3.1 euros each, the trains run twice hourly. The journey took about 25 mins direct to Freidrichstrasse station which was only a 5 min stroll from the hotel.

The hotel was absolutely perfectly positioned for our 3 day stay, within walking distance for an averagly fit person to most of the major sights, the Reichstag was a pleasant 15 minute stroll along the river which is also very close to the Brandenburg gate and the stop for the river cruise just seconds across the road from the hotel.

Our room on the 5th floor faced towards the inner courtyard, so although the hotels on a busy road we weren't disturbed by noise at all, fabulous blackout curtains too, we had 3 nights perfect sleep. The room itself was a good size, well laid out with almost everything needed for a comfortable stay, the only thing missing for us tea lovers was the lack of tea making facilities which is not unusual for European hotels but it's no hardship to take your own which we did & there's a fridge to keep milk cool etc.

We found breakfast in the hotel to be quite pricey, it wasn't included in our room rate & at an extra cost of 24 euros p/person we chose to eat at the station. There's plenty of eateries nearby but we thoroughly enjoyed the scrambled eggs & bacon with a roll & orange juice or coffee at Mc Donalds, not our usual choice of eatery but it was delicious and at under 10 euros per couple not to be sniffed at!

We also ate at the Indian restaurant one night just over the bridge on the same side about 150 yards from the hotel, we had a lovely meal, quick efficient service and good value for money.

The staff at the hotel were all extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, it would certainly be my first choice of hotel when returning to Berlin.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner courtyard were very quiet.

Hotel is in a great location with both trams and trains at the door step. Only about 15 minutes walk from the Brandenberg Gate. River cruises departure at the door step. Plenty of places for meals and shopping. Staff were all very friendly, breakfast was busy but plenty of fod to go around with fast and friendly service.

First stay at a Melia hotel, and based on this experience will look for other Melia hotels when traveling. We were in a Level room. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. We took advantage of the lounge on the Level, and also had a meal in Tapa's. When we booked the room, we received a certificate for $15 Euros per day to use in the hotel which was a nice bonus. Also joined their loyalty program when booking which gave us free Wi-Fi in the room. Hotel was very convenient for all we wanted to see/do in Berlin. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for the second time this May and can't wait to return. The staff are excellent and accommodating. The level room is a treat, the concierge service is second to none. The rooms are spacious, tidy and clean. The location is perfect for all the major attractions, There are several local bars and restaurants close to the hotel and the views of the Spree are perfect.

Room Tip: Try and get a room onto the street overlooking the spree. Try to get on the level floor 7

Perfect central location for everything from transport, shops & restaurants. You can even walk around the corner & jump on a boat for a river tour. Hotel was clean & modern. Staff are friendly & the room was spacious. We paid 15 euro's each for the buffet breakfast - worth every penny! Just two negative's: we missed having tea/coffee making facilities available in our room & although we booked a 'Double' room - it was two beds together & even separate duvets?! not complaining though as it wouldn't put us off staying here again.

Room Tip: If you want a 'double' room - check your not getting two beds together with separate duvets...
