“Smaller than expected, but still very relaxing. Expect to see a lot of naked people!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Although the Spa seems quite different to how it looks in the pictures (much much smaller) it's still incredibly relaxing and a really indulgent experience. When we first arrived it was quite confusing where to go (FYI - the pool is right at the far end of the spa, behind the closed black doors!) watch out the salt water can sting a little! But the salt water also makes it super relaxing. We went on a classic music night, so the lights and music were also quite romantic with a nice 'couply' feel to the place - although this may be very different on other nights. We then sat at the bar and ordered cocktails - not cheap but not what I would call expensive either - some people had champagne which was nice. Then we went to the outdoor small pool (hot tub sort of thing, but without the bubbles) which was really cool, what with there being snow upstairs. We didn't go in the sauna as it had got quite busy and there were a few too many naked people wandering around for our liking!- you have to be naked to go in the sauna and some people take this to the next level by getting it out everywhere. - not that this overly took away from the experience! We paid for 2 hours expecting this to be a good amount of time, although found the 2nd hour slipped by way too quickly - although if you go over you just pay a little extra.

“So relaxing”
Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

Visted liquidrom on a cold snowy berlin day, could not have chosen a better way to spend four hours

The staff were helpful and friendly as we went in, explained everything fully including the token system (you dont take cash in) anything purchased at the bar inside is charged to your token.

Inside the changing area are huge lockers - just as well for the layers of clothes we had been

Inside we headed straight for the floatation pool - ultra cool urban jazz and chilled electro music which can also be heard under the water incredibly clearly. Such a chilled vibe you could almost fall asleep once you get the hang of floating around the incredible ambience in this room. This is the only part of Liquidrom that you are required to wear swimwear.

There were plenty of reclining chairs for us to use - tho i can imagine that when it is busier this could be a problem.

The saunas anf steam room are very good, you do have to remove your swimwear to use them - but if you do want to cover yourself with a towel then you can. The sauna treatments were amazing !! Steam room is in darkness with low level lights but was really good for relaxing in.

We loved sitting in the outdoor hottub while the snow fell around us - liquidrom was a great experience in Berlin. Very highly recommended - would definitely return !!

Amazing place to just relax, lose yourself and chillout. The salt water pool with a DJ spinning beats is phenomenal!

“Excellent urban spa”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

I really liked this place, its a urban spa inside the hearth of Berlin, in Möckernstraße, in Kreuzberg area. its very crowded, so just be patient to be let in. But its worthy after queuing for half a hour more or less. Inside its a urban paradise with the dark pool with the sound of classical or electronic music, and 4 different sauna and a steam room, and a small war pool outside in the terrace. Just make sure to be naked in the sauna and the steam rrom, without any embarassment. Erything is just so natural in Berlin, unlike Italy! And the bar is nice too, you can drink natural juices or eating natural food and get some relax in a nice atmosphere!

“fun and relaxing place, but come prepared”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

Liquidrom is a great way to spend a day in Berlin, but you do need to come prepared. The highlights of the spa are 1) the large floating pool, which is a uniquely relaxing experience and very nicely presented with the low lights and music piped through the water; 2) the Aufguss every hour in the sauna, where the attendant pours water on the coals and whips hot air towards you until it physically hurts: fantastic way to detox and great for body and skin. The outdoor courtyard and pool is also very nice in winter: sitting outside in the freezing cold after a hot sauna and watching the steam rising off your body is wonderful, as is sitting in a warm pool in the open air.

The major caveat I'd say is that you MUST bring a big bottle of water or you'll be really unhappy after a couple of goes in the sauna. I do find it outrageous that they don't supply drinking fountains (and I'm surprised it's legal, given the likelihood of people fainting after heat treatments). However, they are perfectly happy to let you in with your own water, so make sure you bring a bottle with you. Also bring a couple of towels, if you can, so that you have a dry one. The changing rooms are ridiculously badly designed: virtually nowhere to sit down or put your stuff, and it's not a super-luxury place, so don't expect fancy shampoo or body lotion. It's the sort of place that isn't much fun as it gets crowded, because of the poor design (too few toilets, showers), and so if you can go a time that's likely to be less busy (e.g. weekday daytime), you will probably have a better experience. It's better value if you can spend at least 4 hours there, and if you compare it to day-spas in other European capitals, it's pretty reasonable. Personally I found the staff helpful and professional, and the food at the cafe is reasonably priced and good quality.
