Lovely hotel. The staff was really nice and friendly, room was spacious with a sunny balcony and all in all we had a great stay. The restaurant downstair is also very nice and serves great food and wine. If you want an easy and lovely stay - this is the place.

Some rooms do not have a/c (surcharge if you use the unit in the rooms that do). Leave the windows open and endure the street noise if facing Rosa Luxembourg Strasse. INSIST on room in rear of building.

We had an overall good stay at Lux 11. I see some mixed reviews here but can't say that we experienced any of the major problems other people have complained of.
Firstly I must say the location of the hotel is absolutely perfect - it is right in the middle of the action. The hotel is very modern and trendy, which is nice, except for the massive adidas ads behind reception and the blaring dance music morning, noon and night which is a bit much. The service was always good with reception helping us with reservations and directions. We also ate breakfast in the restaurant twice which was more than adequate, with very good quality breads. The rooms are minimalist which is usually relaxing but the lack of storage for clothes made for a messy couple of days - a chest of drawers would not have gone amiss. The shower is right in the bedroom which is fine for a couple but might not be for another traveling dynamic. We had a problem with the shower drain which was kinda rectified but never perfect during our stay.
Overall can't say that we had a perfect experience, and it is not cheap, but equally we had a fantastic time in Berlin and the hotel was certainly adequate and the location made up for its shortcomings. I have graded it as average here but only as there is no "good" option - it did not quite merit a "very good".

My friend & I traveled to Berlin & we're so happy to have stayed at Lux 11. It was a very, chic apartotel right in the heart of Mitte. We had dinner & drinks at the hotel's amazing restaurant, called Shiro I Shiro-a Mediterranean/Japanese fusion restaurant where I
enjoyed a salmon fois gras tobiko sushi roll. Delectable!

Our 'value' room was very sleek, simple, spacious & modern, equipped with a comfortable bed, a "balcony" (though it's really just a window) & a flat screen TV. The only peculiar thing was that the shower is a glass partition in the bathroom--perhaps something to think about if you're not sharing the room with a lover or close friend. The bathroom, however, is separate (with the tallest door ever) & does lend itself to privacy. The complimentary toiletries were of really high quality, so much so that we definitely packed them up & I still have them in my bathroom back home. The exterior of the building is gorgeous & lit up in pink at nighttime.

The receptionists were for the most part, very nice, except for one person who was rather short with us. They offer free lighters, guides & complimentary midnight snacks of hot dogs, buns, canned pickles & tea. In our jet-lagged, whirlwind 2-day trip to Berlin, Lux 11 was perfect place for our every need: convenient, clean & tres chic without being fussy!

Within walking distance, we were able to reach all of what Mitte had to offer & the fascinating surrounding neighborhoods of Berlin are easily accessible by the metro & S-Bahn. Our favorite neighborhood (& there are so many) was certainly Kreuzberg. This design hotel is definitely a great value for Mitte--would definitely recommend it to others!

Stayed at the Lux 11 over New Year. It was perfect for our needs - very well situated for both the sights but also nice restaurants and bars, good sized room (we had a deluxe), enjoyed the kitchenette taking that getting up for breakfast pressure off. Mind you, they had an extremely civilized breakfast policy serving it very late into the morning, and on New Years Day it was served until 14:30!! Still kitchenette saves money and there was a nice organics store down the road to get tasty bread and cheese etc. I like a hotel where they leave you alone and this was it so if you want to be spoilt and pampered constantly it might not be for you. However they did manage to clean our room everyday even though we barely managed to get out of it until after noon. They observed the 'privacy' note which I always appreciate. Rainfall shower with Korres products which was a nice touch. Comfortable, clean and friendly. I know I've read reviews stating the opposite of this but I saw no evidence myself - the staff were all helpful. The hotel bar does allow smoking which seems a bit weird nowadays and might not be to everyone's taste - but for others surely a plus.
