The location of this hotel is its best feature. WIFI was terrible, you had to get a new code at the reception each day... Sigh. The room was very warm, no airco. Bathroom was nice though, bed as well and you have a nice little kitchen which is pretty cool. Staff was not super friendly and dressed in sponsored Adidas. Breakfast was not free, but there's a great place nearby for that: Oliv. I would not really recommend this hotel but it's not the worst hotel ever as well.

The hotel is based at one of best area of Berlin. Certainly you will go by a foot for many important and nice attractions around.
The breakfast is great, they have also DIM SUM as option! The rooms are huge, so if you have many luggages, certainly it will be the perfect option for you.
Just the staff/reception desk could be more friendly.

Room Tip: Get a room with view. Sometimes upgrade is considerable and not so expensive.

I lived in Berlin for quite a while and returned for a weekend. Chose the Lux to stay as it was recommended by me. Although the overall experience was OK, I was rather disappointed. The room size was really good. Room was facing the street so it was rather noisy but hey, it's Berlin. However, the rooms' usability due to trying to be "hip" was rather average. No warm water at the (way too low positioned) sink. The shower which is, as the sink, inside the room had a problem with the plughole so it was running full of water which went inside the room. The floor is made of linoleum which you have to like. Had no A/C as the building is apparently heritage protected. Some other rooms have one, so be sure to specifically ask if you need it. Basically the pictures on the booking websites have little in common with the actual room.

Service as a bit of a let-down too unfortunately. Although I booked for two persons just one pair of towels, pillows, blanket, shoes, etc. was provided. This was eventually fixed after mentioning it. Check-In was not before 4pm which is hotel policy but none the less didn't improvide the overall experience. Had a girl first, she was very kind and friendly, had a boy later on who was rather stuck up. When I tried, I couldn't reach the reception by phone - but at least got called back afterwards. Although I booked directly with the hotel I was not given either a late check-out nor the complimentary Wi-Fi which they advertise on stickers throughout the premise. A speciality: The room does not get cleaned automatically, you have to ask for it. Don't know if it was meant to be funny or "hip", but it was put under the guise of respecting your privacy ;-)

To sum it up, staying for two days was OK, it was clean and I felt OK but I wouldn't stay there again as the price-value ratio is bad and the overall experience just was not very welcoming. There are plenty of (better) options close by such as the Motel One or even the Amano which are more "Hotel" than "Hostel".

Room Tip: If you don't like the noise, ask for a backward facing room

We spent three nights in Berlin, and we had a great time. The suite in the hotel was spacious and well appointed, with lots of windows. There is only one small elevator, but the exercise is good for you. Front desk was very helpful. It is close to the tram, and good walking distances to most places of interest. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Suggest use the book in advance option and upgrade to a suite.

Lux 11 is in Berlin Mitte and is handy to all the small shops and restaurants in the area. It has very hard concrete floors and the one bedroom is really open plan studio style but the value is good. The rooms have their own balcony which adds another dimension overlooking a green garden area at the rear below. Very well-service room with good towels and accessories.
It is truly an apartment hotel without a reception area where you can sit down. A lobby with chairs would be a welcome addition.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room - it's worth the extra Euros. High up at the back is quiet with good light...

I stayed there 3 nights for business reasons and did not choose the hotel myself. The location was perfect and the hotel looks great from outside. The reception is rather small, some of the staff very friendly and helpful, others show no interest and are almost rude. There is only one elevator which is furthermore quite slow. The room itself is nice, rather coldish atmosphere with its white furnitures, not very functional (especially the sink and shower integrated in the room) and always spotless clean.

It's become an ok place to stay, but not worth the rack rate for a city like Berlin. The parent company is clearly investing its time and money in the sister hotel The Weinmeister, just down the road.
Lux 11 needs a good refurbishment, and the latest money saving ploy (disguised as 'we don't want to disturb your lie in') is to not clean anyone's room unless specifically asked to. Resulting in frustrated people coming back to messy rooms and dirty towels. Just not acceptable for the price you pay and the reputation the hotel claims to have.
Staff were pleasant, which brings my service rating to average.
