“Gorgeous Room and Friendly Staff”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

We stayed in the Summer House which is absolutely stunning. I loved the decor, the private rooftop pool, and the view of Berlin. It was better than the photos on the website. The staff, especially Francisca, were extremely friendly and helpful. Our adult children stayed in the Ocean apartment which did not have the views, but was nicely decorated and had plenty of space for two couples. The breakfast was delicious. The neighborhood was beautiful; lots of classic old apartment buildings on wide tree lined streets dotted with sidewalk cafes. A perfect place to stay in Berlin.

If you like places with character and charm you'll love this hotel. We moved here from a modern boutique style place in the business part of the Mitte which we found a bit soulless and were delighted with what we found here - a huge and beautifully kitted out room (#8 Cairo), with friendly and helpful staff. Best of all it's on a lovely street in a cool, peaceful and upmarket neighbourhood full of small cafés, restaurants and independent shops. Only downside was no air con and it's boiling here at the moment - but not too bad with fans and well worth it in any case. Also excellent value (booked last minute on booking.com)

Great hotel in a lovely neighbourhood. We had room 103 which was light and airy, high ceiling, big sofa, fab four poster and a funky sink made from an enormous piece of stone.

Loads of storage space, massive jacuzzi bath and overhead shower.

Breakfast was lovely and we had the luxury of sitting outside on three gorgeous warm mornings. Even better they serve til a civilised late time at weekends.

Great friendly people as well!

We stayed at the Cairo room, a huge and nicely decorated room on the third floor.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful in every way. Breakfast is tasty, and the honesty bar is available all day long. The only strange thing is that you have to pay for the stay in cash. For Norwegians this is unusual. On the other hand, it seems quite normal i Berlin.

Stayed 4 nights last week in Maritime room. Would recommend to any of our friends visiting Berlin. Excellent accommodation -very quiet room, spotlessly clean, and comfy bed. Helpful and pleasant staff on Reception. Very good breakfasts at their Blue Room cafe. Hotel location in leafy district with City 'village' feel. Easy access to Alexanderplatz Station (for Schonefeld Airport and for a Potsdam visit) and all major Berlin sights. Nearby restaurants plentiful - Pasternak and Paulette Francais are of high quality - and Cafe Anita Wronski delicious ice cream sundaes.

This was a very beautiful, personal hotel with large rooms.
There was a bathtub in the middle of the room in addition to a large (really) shower in the bathroom. The bathroom also had double sinks. In addition to this, the room has two flat screens, one located in front of the bath tub, one in front of the bed. Downside: Everything is dubbed in German. Hilarious and annoying at the same time.
Superb location, right next to both tram, subway/underground. You can find a cosy mexican place right next door (literally) and tons of small cafes around the corner. Will most def stay here again.
