This museum is pretty huge and it is pretty easy to get stuck on the railway section, which I didn't find very well done. a ton or locomotives and museum staff who jump at you if you child dares to try to climb onto or into one. I went with my family (small children and grandparents). It was pretty boring for the girls until they found the section on jewelry. If you can focus on something that interests you, which once you have orientated yourself is not too difficult, it is a very good museum. The section on aircraft and their engines was really fascinating.

This museum is huge and impressive. The entrance fee is really now, and the atmosphere is nice. However, except the "do not touch" signs, none of the signs were in english, but only german.

If you want to see everything, you need at least 3 hours. If you also want to hear, read and view everything, you need at least 4-5 hours.

There is a little something for anyone to view: boats, sea-exploration, planes, computers, sowing machines, trains, mills, photography, film and a bit about lab-work.

The amount of information and exhibits is really huge and nicely layed-out. A muat-see for anyone, but not exactly for little kids, who simply cannot take in this much information, in my opinion... There were many families with little kids, they seemed tired and got noisy.

Without doubt this is one of the best museums I have ever visited and I had an absolutely wonderful day out here. Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin has a huge collection of fantastic exhibits and hundreds of beautifully-crafted scale models that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. The collection of maritime and railway models on display is especially good and the interpretation and exhibition spaces have been very well thought out.

There is very little in the way of English translated interpretation but I was able to understand enough German that this did not really spoil my enjoyment. English audio tours are available for €2 at the reception and are very good quality. I brought with me my own set of mini-headphones which made a big difference (there is a mini-jack port on the handsets).

The café/bar was quite busy but has some very nice food on offer. It would be well worth taking a packed lunch and using the designated picnic spot though.

Definitely allow a FULL day if you come here and if you want to try and see all the areas. There is so much to see that after a while it can be somewhat overwhelming - but in a good way!
