“One of the highlights of our trip”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

Went with children, mostly due to the praises here on Tripadvisor, and we weren't disappointed.
It's enormous and takes a whole day easily, especially with kids, since much of it is very hands-on and people spend ages testing things out. Our kids loved the trains, while husband and I adored the photo- and video sections. You can try using a Camera Obscura, chase after holograms and see some extremely rare footage, like the execution of Mary Queen of Scots! (properly labeled as disturbing, mind you.)
Do go. Berlin is so much more than just the War and the Wall, and this gets a bit overlooked sometimes.

“Great boats and planes display”
Reviewed April 30, 2013 via mobile

Wonderful museum, from the steam engines to the jets, well displayed in the new building. Allow at least half a day for it. Besides it's included in the museums 3 day pass

During a short visit I saw the ship and the train exhibits. Everything was well presented with interesting comments.

“Well worth visiting - but allow a full day!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

This place is huge! There are so many different levels and different halls, you cannot possibly get bored here. There is everything from cameras to ships and radios to trains and even a brewery. Then, when you have finished inside, there is all of the outside to explore too! We had a lovely walk round and between the ruined buildings, the windmill, the two railway turntables and the old railway tracks, we even managed to see a pair of woodpeckers! Yes, really.

Like people have said, it is off the beaten track and not very well known but it is easy to get to by bus or U-bhan.

“Great Museum on Transportation and Technology”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Great selection of old and new technology, including planes, ships, trains and a historic brewery. Fortunately, they kept the political lecturing to a minimum.
