Owner description: A harbored barge functions as a floating swimming pool right in the tradition of old riverside openair baths. Here you have an unique panoramic view of the river Spree, the Oberbaumbrücke and Berlin’s iconic TV tower. Besides bathing, the beach area around the Badeschiff has become an urban recreational area. During summertime we offer Yoga and StandUpPaddling courses and massage treatments. On top of that beach parties and music events take place on a regular basis. The Badeschiff has become a focal point of urban culture and entertainment for many Berliners at any time of the day.

If you take a walk along the River Spree from Alexanderplatz towards Kreuzberg you will find a couple of exciting but relaxing beach bars, an eclectic mix of street art in Kreuzberg, then the wonderful arena swimming pool and beach area which is built into the riverside. Although it took us a little while to find due to the niche shops, tattoo parlours and intriguing art which surrounds the area, once we had walked passed the Club der Visionaere we found the amazing beach bar and pool called Arena. Serving street food and a great range of cocktails and beers (you have to pay a deposit for the cups) Arena is an idyllic alcove in a bustling part of the city which by day turns out Cafe Del Mar beats and is packed with people trying to find a little Mediterranean soul in Berlin. A place where families, groups and individuals are welcome, Arena should be high on the places to visit in Berlin for a bit of slow time.

Another place that was difficult to find but well worth the search. Badeschiff consists of a swimming pool embedded in the river, sand, deck chairs and the overall vibe you would get from being at the beach – perfect escape from the city in my opinion! I don’t think there is anything like this in London, so what a wonderful experience this was, to be able to relax in the pool and the deck chairs whilst having a view of the very busy Berlin across the other side of the river. The atmosphere was great. There is an entry fee but not an expensive one so anyone can go and visit whether you plan to spend a lot of not.
There is an area where you can get some food asides from the bar and I got a wrap (chicken) and I must also add that it was the best wrap I have ever had!!!

Great place, definitely recommend it to anyone.

Very cool spot for a swim in the afternoon, close to the bars of Kreuzberg. Pool is very clean and it is a nice setting to lounge about. Went there one afternoon and it was quite busy (at least the deck chairs were full - not the pool). Drinks are a bit expensive though. Also went to meet people on a Friday night, was completely dead.

Badeschiff is really neat, a great place to spend a day relaxing by the pool and taking in the sun. Definitely can get crowded so if you're trying to have a peaceful swim you're at the wrong place. Good spot to have a drink and chill between a few dips into the pool.
