“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

There isn't much advertising for this museum and not much is said about it in guidebooks but it is well worth a visit. It is easy to get to, the nearest train station just a few minutes away. The entry fee was very reasonable. Not all of the exhibits have English translations but this is not a problem as the displays speak for themselves. A must see in Berlin.

“Great taste of DDR Germany, really interesting architecture”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Definitely worth a visit if you like soviet architecture and easy to access from the subway. Really enjoyed the office rooms which are all preserved and the building itself, lots of very interesting exhibits

The museum has done an excellent job of recreating the feel of the old Stasi. It is eerie to walk around and get a sense of the thinking and harsh edge view of the world that prevailed here at that time. I liked it because while it brought all of the horror of that time into clear view, it was not overwhelming like some other museums. If you visit Berlin you really should go.

“The steady rain complemented this place perfectly”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

As we sat on the steps and waited for the Museum to open on a dreary Saturday morning, the steady rain only added to the depressing nature of this large complex of buildings that were once home to the Stasi. Restoring offices and other rooms to their original state has been a very clever move - capturing the drabness of the furniture and fittings perfectly. For me, the most interesting displays were those of "subversive" material - the same clothes, music and magazines that I took completely for granted during my teenage years. Well worth a visit.

“Don't Miss It!!”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We travelled by taxi (train would have been easy but had just arrived) to the museum - in the old Stasi HQ building-complex. It looked as though they had just moved-out. A brilliant collection of items used by and collected by Stasi with furniture, equipment and ambience still in residence!!
