“Excellent place for breakfast or lunch”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

We had very happy memories of coming here for breakfast the first time we visited Berlin and the hotel cost didn't include breakfast. They have a really good selection of breakfasts all reasonably priced and very good service. On this occasion we came here for a light lunch after a morning's sightseeing and that was also good. Inside and outside seating. Recommended.

“The best Apple Strudel with Custard or Cream!”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

We went to Cafe Einstein through a recommendation from a local in Berlin. It is located just outside Checkpoint Charlie and makes the ideal pit-stop to take a breather whilst sightseeing. It has a beautiful atmosphere, you can people watch, the staff are attentive and the apple strudel is WOW - excellent... I've had a lot of apple strudels over the years and this was truly sublime... the taste of cinnamon, fresh walnuts, the crispiness... I could go.. but its making me hungry. To conclude - anyone near checkpoint charlie must visit this Cafe... this is the benchmark which cafe should be performing against. Definite Thumbs Up here.

“Amazing breakfast!”

This cafe was close to our hotel on Unter den Linden and served an incredible breakfast. It was definitely crowded, but worth the wait!

“So good, we went back again!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

Came accross this place by chance after having experienced rubbish service at a nearby tourist trap brau haus, our experience could not have been more different. It was like stepping back in time to a 1920's Vienese cafe and a lot to be said for old school charm and attentive service for excellent wating staff with imaculate white starched aprons.

On our first visit we both had the goulash with dumplings which after coming in from the cold, was a welcome ready brek glow, soft tasty tender mead, in a hearty rich sauce with fluffy dumpling and womderful bread, washed down with a crisp pils. Although not busy at the time of our visit the place had a gentle buzz from late night diners.

We had such a good experience we wnet back for lunch the next day and although a lot busier for lunch with local government crowd, our waitress not only found us one table, she then found us a better one by the window. Lunch was a hearty German salad for me, and warming soup for my better half, followed by wonderful pancakes with quark and berries. Suberb service, great food, and could happily have stayed here all day had we not had to leave to get our flight back to the UK.
