Well a short review, because we weren’t that satisfied about this hotel. The best thing to say about this hotel was the location, it was perfect. BUT

The room was very small, and the beds were very old, the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom. The room was dirty and had spots on the walls and dust everywhere. The breakfast was not good at the all, all the things you normally chilled wasn’t and I normally do not like warm yoghurt. The staff of the hotel was very impertinent and when we paid for our stay, we could only do it their way, and they made jokes about us not having any money on our credit cards.

Overall a much to expensive hotel with dirty rooms and impertinent staff, choose another hotel for your stay in Berlin

Location is very good, but that's the only good thing about this hotel. The bed was very uncomfortable. The TV didn't work. The internet connection was very slow and crashed every 15 minutes. The breakfast was very poor. I stayed there in the summer, it was impossible to stay in the room during day time because it was hot as hell and it was impossible to open the window! The worst thing is the staff: they were so tough and never smiled, as if they were military officers. When I tried to explain to the receptionist that I was very unsatisfied with the hotel, the uncomfortable bed, the very hot room, bad internet connection and bad breakfast, she didn't even want to listen. She refused to let me speak to the manager and she said I can always go to another hotel. That's exactly what I will do in my next visit in Berlin, and that's what you should do too. Stay away from that hotel!

We stayed for one week in the end of November.
the staff was very welcoming though their English wasn't great, which was actually the case all over town in some places while being horrific in restaurants...

The hotel was ok, the room was cleaned and tidied daily, not very much else to say, there was a small TV which only showed German channels.. Breakfast was included, and was pretty good, though it was the same stuff all week long, even on the weekend.

One big no no for me was the lack of free WiFi, you had to pay 2euro per hour or 7euro for a whole day.. so keep that in mind if you're coming here.

Nice hotel for the price and the location is pretty good, but I think the mitte area is better for young people coming to visit.

The location of the hotel is excellent - all tipes of transport are just minutes from it. Famous Berlin ZOO is just opposite. We went there to see as much of Berlin sights as possible and we succeeded fully! It's due to friendly and effective staff! Especially we want to thank receptionists Olga and Vika, who helped us to find the most interesting places to visit! Breakfasts also were good and rooms were clean.

Booked this hotel for a 7 day stay because we had to stay in Berlin unexpectedly for another week. We wanted cheap and chearful and thats what we got. We had a twin room with basin, very small. The shower and toliets were down the corridor, but as other rooms on our floor had en-suite we never saw anyone else using them. The hotel is staffed with Russians so launguage was sometimes a problem. The buffet breakfast was just the job, we made up rolls for the day too. Wifi was way over priced so had to visit local cafes with free internet. Overall great location and good value if you require more privacy than a hostel but very basic accomodation.

Left hotel booking right to the last minute & this place was pretty much the only one with 3 nights available (that wasn't charging silly money!). Originally wanted something more central but as it turned out, this hotel is very well located for the price - Wittenbergplatz tube stop is literally two minutes walk, & from there it is only a few stops to get right into the centre on the U2 Pankow line. If you turn up late & hungry, as we did, there are no places to eat - that I could see - but Zoo Station is one stop the other way & there you can find several food vendors (great pizza, currywurst, noodles...)
The hotel itself *is* very basic but for the price, one can't moan too much. It's all kept very clean... they need to sort the pillows out perhaps, as they are not really pillows as I know them to be..! Had to stuff towels under there to get a bit of height, but that's the only gripe really. Breakfast is OK in a continental sort of way; plenty of cheeses, ham, bread & cereals...with UHT milk ;) I only have coffee anyway, & the coffee was very good.
I probably would use this hotel again; *maybe* you could get slightly better for the money but I suspect it would be more out of the way....I would recommend it if you just want somewhere to bed down; for the price & location it is perfectly fine.

We booked this hotel last minute so didn't really have a lot of choice of budget options in central Berlin! The hotel was very good though - did exactly what it said on the tin - no frills simple room which was clean and comfortable. We went for no ensuite as it was cheaper but there was a sink in the room which was useful. The shared shower and toilets were impeccably clean and modern - we were glad we didn't pay the extra EUR15 a night she tried to persuade us to on check-in for ensuite! They also put on a fantastic breakfast in the morning - bread, ham, cheese, cereal, stollen, juices, fruit - more than I expected.

Location wise it is pretty good depending on what you are looking for. Being next to KaDeWe and the Kudamm was great - although very quiet in the evening. We were there for Mauerfall 09, so spent most of our time heading east towards Brandenburg Tor - although late night U-Bahn connections made sure it was very easy to get back. You are also close to Zoologsicher Platz with direct trains to the Airport so it is very well connected.

All in all, a very good budget option and would definitely recommend it to others.
