Berlin-Friedrichshain is not the easiest area to start a new restaurant, with the gentrification-loathing locals frowning upon anything that even remotely resembles like a Prenzlberg-type of thing.
Well, that's their problem, then.
Because the Butterhandlung is a great place, run by some lovely folks from all across the globe, who are trying very hard to make this restaurant a success. They deserve it. The menu doesn't offer a whole lot of options - which is a good thing! Food is excellent, they've got some good wines as well, and on warm summer evenings, all you want to do is enjoy both, while relaxing under the stars at the corner of Müggelstrasse and Scharnweberstrasse.
Please, please let this be a success - the Butterhandlung adds so much to this area of Friedrichshain. As for me, I'll come here as often as I can. It's just a perfect place.
