Sra Bua by TIm Raue only opened on Friday night 12 th of April 2013 in the Adlon Hotel Berlin. We dined there Tuesday the 16 th of April. We where on a mid week two day break from Dublin. I had emailed the resturant and had said that last year we had stayed in the hotel when the Club de Chefs de Chefs held their annual meeting and really enjoyed our stay. I was interested to revisit and try this new resturant.
We went in through the front of the hotel and asked where Sra Bua was located a lovely young man escorted us through the hotel and out side to the left of the hotel and showed us in to resturant to a reception desk.We waited a little while and no one came to reception so we when through and met a man who appeared to be front of house we said we had a reservation, he took our jackets with very little interest or warm greeting. Showed us to the bar and we ordered a drink. Time went on and no one came to say our table was ready we said it to the bar waiter, then some one else and the third time I went up to the desk and asked the girl should we go to the table our self. We where seated at a lovely table right beside the window looking in to the kitchen. The two service staff we had at our table where very helpful explaining the menu and the dished when they arrived. The food as amazing with all the different flavours and presentation was wonderful. The meal was excellent and well worth the wait.
Decor black, browns, gold so a bit dark but it is the style of the resturant. There are steps in the resturant lit up underneath as you approach so you notice them,as you are leaving they are not lit up or marked and not easy to notice, you could easily miss your footing a health and safety issue.
Enjoyed the evening and the food, meeting and greeting could have been a little more welcoming.
