My family and I spent about two weeks at The Palacina in September and I have to say that it is indeed my "home away from home", the apartments are very spacious and most importantly super CLEAN! it has everything you could ever need in it, and i mean EVERY THING! plus it is located in a very quite neighborhood with many many grocery stores and restaurant very near by, plus the subway station is just a "stone throw" away. I would defiantly stay there every single time i'm going to Berlin. The management are very helpful and kindly willing to go above and beyond "the call of duty" to make your stay more comfortable, they even help us personally move our 8 pieces of luggage to and from the apartment, i mean who does that!!! Thank you Felix, Mario and Nadine. Miss you guys! and remember, doughnuts and chocolate croissants for breakfast are on me ! Kind Regards from Kuwait!

We booked a 4 night stay at the Palacina apartments in Berlin to celebrate my husband's birthday in early September. We needed a spacious apartment with all the facilities, something that seems rare in big cities, however the Palacina provided everything and as my title suggests was a home from home.

The apartment we booked was a one bedroom unit which consisted of a large bedroom with a super king bed, a large bathroom and an additional separate guest toilet. The lounge / dining room was large with enough seating and storage for a reasonable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped with a dishwasher, electric hob and oven together with a breakfast bar, microwave and a kettle for the English tea habit.

There were two large flat screen TV's showing Irish Sky which included Sky news.

The apartments are situated a few minutes walk from good public transport and we found that for 16.50 Euros we could get a day pass to the central areas which was valid for up to five people. On the first day, we took the train to the centre of the city which as expected was frequent and efficient.

The local shops sell most stuff especially bread and fresh vegetables if you want to cook but if not there are a variety of restaurants in the area within a few minutes easy walk. The Palacina management are happy to advise.

On the top floor of our block there was a delightful roof terrace which has tables, chairs and a gas BBQ. The local store had fresh Corn on the cob complete with their leaves. Some butter and a BBQ made this a splendid starter which was followed by lamb chops. A great facility and whether for a relaxed meal or just a drink, you can see many of the Cities famous buildings on the skyline from this vantage point.

We rented a car from the airport and with our GPS found the apartments without difficulty. Parking in the apartments secure compound was available at a very reasonable 10 Euros per night.

We were greeted in perfect English by Felix one of the managers and he gave us a good overview of the area. The following day we met the other manager, Nadine who again welcomed us in perfect English and made sure we were comfortable.

Berlin is easy to drive round but watch out for the 'invincible cyclists' who pull out in front and from the side without notice. Parking can be a problem in the city but on Sunday it is free and we parked for several hours outside the Museums.

The Reichstag Dome is well worth a visit but you need to make a prior reservation on line.

There is still a good deal of construction work in the central areas of Berlin, so the Palacina apartments have an additional benefit of being well away from the dust.

Room Tip: Any of the apartments would be very acceptable.

Stayed here for 2 nights only and wished we could have stayed longer! We absolutely love the place and actually want to keep it a secret so we will always have a place to stay when we return to Berlin ;)

What more can be said about the Palacina that has not already been said by other reviewers?

Everything went smoothly. From the communication with the Palacina staff to the check-in. Felix even showed us some other apartments which can easily accomodate bigger groups and we are definitely planning to return with a bigger group and stay at the Palacina and then for more than 2 days. As there is so much more to explore in Berlin which cannot be done in 2 days only (Felix you were more than right in saying that 2 days is just too short for Berlin, but this gives us a good excuse to return).
The tips on where to eat and what to do were also very welcoming as we only had a little time.

Big bonus is the roof terrace which has a barbecue, one can easily picture oneself using that on a nice, summer day.

The apartment is a very short walk to the metro which takes you straight into the center of Berlin. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area to quench one's thirst and take the edge of one's hunger. Or you can always choose to prepare your meals yourself in the kitchen of your apartment. With a 24 hour supermarket just around the corner this should also not be a problem.

Felix and the rest of the Palacina team, thanks for offering such a wonderful place. Keep up the good work and you will be seeing us again someday.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay! This place is amazingly refurbished, decorated, with lots of taste. We felt so comfortable it was hard to leave. We were staying in the big apartment for almost 2 weeks. It is spacious, high ceilings, big rooms, 2 bathrooms, beautiful dining-living room, big kitchen, extra storage...There is lots of wardrobe space, which we all appreciated. The kitchen is great with all you need if you wish to cook and enjoy the meals at home, if not, there are cafes, restaurants,..just down the street. The location is great. If we come back, we are staying here for sure.
Thank you to all the Palacina team!

We stayed at the Palacina apartments for 4 nights and from looking at the pictures on the website we were expecting it to be totally different as the photos were out of this world but the price was very reasonable. Well, when we got there we were happily suprised. The room was huge. A massive lounge and open plan kitchen with a bathroom you'd be very happy to have back at home. Room was clean, staff was excellent and the location of the Palacina was perfect. Any problems, then Felix was on reception to help or in the evenings was just a phone call away to help. We travelled all over Berlin but our area was definately the best. We loved it. Next time we visit the Palacina theres no doubt in my mind where I'm staying again. Thanks again.

The apartment we stayed in had everything what you need. Very clever and tasteful furnished, beautiful designer bathroom, huge kitchen with all appliances including washing machine and dryer, very friendly and helpful staff, good location close to public transport, just everything is perfect. If you travel by car, it's only 10 EUR per day for a secure car park, it would be hard to find a spot at the street otherwise.
