“A fantastic offbeat museum”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

You will be surprised, maybe a bit creeped out and in the end pleased with this unique, bold, interesting self-created museum of human created objects whose use may no longer be obvious, though they are not too many decades old. Only devices with positive and helpful uses, the items often look creepy and monstrous. Photos are allowed and encouraged. The curator will give you an introduction to the exhibit before you "buy" and will happily answer for you how he found any specific object and what it is/does/did. A definite "must stop" for anyone who spends more than a day in Berlin. Locals will enjoy it as well.

“A feast for the mind”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

This was the best place I have visited during six months in Berlin. The Designpanoptikum is more than a collection of obscure objects, it is a surrealist museum where the function of the curious exhibits has been obscured, distorted & juxtaposed such that the observer encounters a series of sensory puzzles. MUST SEE.

“Spine chillingly clever and curious”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

Possibly one of my favourite things in berlin! Was surprised have much there is to see inside. Amazing concept, brilliantly curated, creepy as hell and the owner has done a fantastic job of creating something truly exciting and unique - definitely recommend!

“Cabinet of Curiosities”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

This was the best place we visited during our week in Berlin. The Designpanoptikum is more than a collection of obscure objects, it is a surrealist museum where the function of the curious exhibits has been obscured, distorted & juxtaposed such that the observer encounters a series of sensory puzzles. The museum is like a mirror to the visitor, and the depth of the experience will vary depending on the mind of the beholder. Vlad, the designer/curator/owner of this marvel is delightfully enthusiastic and eccentric, turning your expectations inside out and investing the whole experience with his lively, inspiring personality. The entire collection is clearly a labour of love, and in my opinion is an unmissalbe experience if you're visiting Berlin. Amazing!!

“Intriguing”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

This's bizarre collection of medical, scientific and wonderful looking objects really makes you think. Make sure you get talking to the guy who runs this place makes this place, he is full of interesting stories and facts! It will only take you an hour or two but it's well worth the visit and there are some good shops and cafés near by.
