We ate at Mabuhay on our first evening in Berlin. the menu was in German but the staff helped us translate! The food was excellent, very tasty and plenty of it, and the drinks were very good value compared to other places we visited in Berlin. As other have said, do not be put off by the appearance of the place, it is well worth a visit.

Don't be fooled by the look from outside. Speaking as a real Indonesian, this place is a hidden gem which makes our stay in Berlin feel like a second home. Usually you will meet many Indonesians in this restaurant. Ever dream of eating a genuine Mpek-mpek (Palembang's fish cake) or Pecel Lele in Germany for less than 10 EUR including drinks? Then go straight to this place. They also have Risoles (typical Indonesian snack) as appetizer. Menu is very diverse. Some foods are authentically spicy. So of you are not into spicy foods, ask for recommendations or adjustments as they also have many non-spicy menu. Service are really friendly. The place is within walking distance from Potsdamer Platz. Or just take U2 to U Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in scandic hotel and were looking for a nearby cheap place to have a late dinner.
The food was good and the staff was very friendly. For two starters, two main dishes, two glasses of wine and a bottle of water we just payed 24 ?.

Am a Malaysian who was longing for my home town food. And indonesian dishes are in some way similar to ours. Decided to go there for dinner with my Malaysian friends. And even though the place looks a little 'shabby', it's not those typical German restaurant kind of ambience but the food is the killer! Their dishes are 100% indonesian. Really worth the price. Will definitely visit the place again.
