Had a great weekend, location is ok, nice rooms and service.
Stuff was great, they help me to find concerts and theater tickets, not just like in any hotel,
but really helpful people.
Maybe choose another one for a week stay, but for a short visit will do just fine.
Good value for your money

When whizzing in to Berlin for a one night trip, I electronically asked various buddies who are discerning travellers where they might recommend. It was good that three of them - also used to staying in 5 star hotels - suggested Motel One in Mitte.

I think no-one minds being offered the chance to stay in a 5 star hotel; but are severely unhappy if it is not up to scratch. I'm not sure what Motel One is, but it's price range is extremely low so my expectations were likewise.

I was wrong.

Motel One is a very simple, clean and efficiently run hotel near the centre of Berlin. Everything I asked for was offered - except a wake up call, "sir, we don't have phones in the room but we can lend you one for a deposit of €20.00".

The room is perfectly adequate for a one night or weekend trip. No cupboards but plenty of space to hang clothes. The bathroom was clean and, although this suited me, he basin was in the bedroom and not the bathroom. Probably good for two to ablute simultaneously.

Well, I would certainly recommend Motel One for those on a budget; I probably wouldn't want an extended stay. But, for a couple of nights, as the Gershwins would say, who could ask for anything more?

Room Tip: Smile at the receptionist!

If you are travelling on a budget, Motel One is always a good option. From our experience, you can always trust to find the standard Motel One quality (re: rooms, service, breakfast, etc) in every unit. That being said, this particular unit was undergoing renovations in October 2012 and that turned the rooms facing the street a bit more noisy. Also, the rooms were a little smaller than the rooms in other units (Leipzig and Nürnberg, for instance). After the first night we took the noise issue to the front desk and they moved us to another room, on the back of the building, much quieter. Breakfast was good and well worth was is charged for it. The parking lot was full (you have to reserve a parking space, which we did not know and did not do), but we were instructed to park our car on the neighboring streets and all went well. There is a U-Bahn station right in front of the hotel. As for the location, I personally prefer the Alexanderplatz or Spittelmarkt units (I think they are more "Mitte" than this one, which is closer to Kreuzberg). The area is not particularly beautiful, but it is safe. We did not see much restaurants nearby, but I must admit we did not make an effort, since we wanted to explore other areas of the city. All in all, is a good option.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street are a bit noisy.

Model One (Berlin Mitte) was a great choice for a hotel in Berlin on a budget. The room was on the small side but very clean and nicely furnished and the space was well used. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when looking for local bars and restaurants. The wifi was reliable and free with a log-on provided with room receipt. The location is excellent - very close to the U underground station. Walking distance to many of the main attractions e.g. Jewish Museum, Checkpoint Charlie Museum and Alexandraplaz.

I spent 2 nights in this Motel One and it is good for business . The Hotel is very clean and well located downtown . Breakfast is not with big variety but of good quality croissant , fruitsalat , coffe , cheese , ham , bred . Wi Fi is included in the price and park garage extra but not expensive . The room is small but offer everything necessary for business staying . I would not come with the wife but for business is very good

Almost right next to the underground station, the hotel is well-designed, clean and extremely comfortable. Professional staff at the reception greet you and facilitate a speedy checkin. The beds are great and the shower are wonderful. Wifi connection is reliable and breakfast is delicious.

This particular Motel One, however, is different from the others in that the rooms are a lot smaller and so is the shower. But they make up for it with several clever space-saving design ideas.

I'd come back any time.

I stayed again for 1 night here and the price quality ration is unbeatable! Tried already several other hotels, but this is my favorite one for business purpose as long as you focus on the Eastern part of Berlin. Good location, rooms to the court yard very quite, great staff at reception, clean room and as long as you do not have bulky luggage the room should be big enough. I will come back in due course!
