“Octoberfest in the Capital”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

A few yards from Alexanderplatz on the main drag of Mitte (Karl LiebnitzStrasse sits the Berlin outppst of Munich's famous Hofbrauhaus replete with delicious schnitzel and a host of great beer in all sizes. Between the accordion players and the "happy" beer drinking diners, a fun time is sure to be had and the food measures up quite nicely as well.

“Great atmosphere for football funs but not really for good food”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

The place is very big with 2 floors. In the first floor is the main restaurant and in the second there
are a lot of TV screens where you watch mainly sports (football matches) and also you can eat
and drink beers. It's near Alexanderplatz (north side of the square-about 200m far) and we went
there to see a big match with my friends. The atmosphere was great,we felt like being in the stadium, the beers were great, the funs were shouting and generally was a unique experience.I
estimate that about a thousand people were only in the second floor. The bretzels are special
and also the sausages, schnitzels are not so tasty and also the knuckles.Because they must
serve a lot of people in a short time the food is prepared.
Generally is a touristic big place where you can enjoy drinking with friends and watching matches and not for good eating and discussing because there is a lot of noise.

“Hate the food, terrible service”
Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

Maybe it is just our taste but we wanted real German food to try, so the tripadvisor app showed good reviews on this restaurant which was in the neighborhood of Alexander Platz. We entered and it was in a huge hall full of people. We ordered the platter with all the various meat which were on the menu. By doing this we were able to try all of the special German food. This platter is 19 Euro each so since we were with 2 the price was 38 Euro. Not very expensive but not cheap eather. We had one bite of every piece of meat and everything was terrible. The only thing I liked was the sauerkrout. The wurst on the streets are better than here. So if you want to eat something German, do not go for this place. You could get a better bang for your buck elsewhere.

“Very good night out.”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Visited the Hofbrau when staying at a nearby hotel.

It is a tremendous place to have a beer and some good satisfying food. Of course, it is very 'touristy' but that doesn't stop you from enjoying the excellent meals (served in double quick time) and sampling the large number of different beers that are available. Plenty of music and people watching to be had, recommend it to you.

“ Great night out”
Reviewed April 25, 2013 via mobile

We had a really good time at this place! It felt like being at a real German festival.. There was music playing and beer flowing, people dancing and singing - and it was only a Tuesday night!
The place is huge so even if very busy it doesn't feel overcrowded.
Sure it may be a little touristy but it's definitely worth a visit.
