I was on business trip to berlin and I was delighted by staying at the Holiday Inn Alexanderplatz for 5 nights. New hotel, modern product with elegant rooms. Friendly & smiling staff, great check-in experience and quick with hassle free checkout procedure.

The hotel is located at two minutes walking from the metro & tram station. 25 minutes by taxi from the airport. I asked from an Iron & Iron board and it was available free of charge, I requested also additional coffee sachet on several occasions and were delivered at no extra cost as well.

Bed and pillows are comfortable, rooms are quiet, no noise disturbance.

I would certainly come back and I strongly recommend it

1. VERY small rooms. We had executive room, would hate to think how small a normal room would be?
2. Bath/shower maximum temperature not hot enough at all.
3. Limited English TV channels (2)
4. Brand new. Very very clean. Could not ask for more.
5. 10euro charge for a very limited room service.
6. Burger patties via room service half raw.
7. Staff very friendly
8. Handy to tube and to hop on hop off bus
9. Amazing decor in rooms - very very

Could be awesome and would highly recommend IF:
1. Lose the room service charge (its a bit rude)
2. Check the food is cooked
3. Improve TV channels
4. Warmer water please!!!! Really unpleasant bath/shower!
5. Remove table or the chair from suites as you can barely move around let alone put your bags anywhere!

Could be a really spectacular hotel but lets itself down.

The hotel is new and is located near the Fernsehnenturm (TV tower) and within a short walk of the Alexanderplatz S-Bahn station. The staff were very friendly and the rooms clean and modern. The bus from Tegel Airport stops a short walk from the hotel. The TV tower is a must see attraction and is very near.

I stayed here for four days in January 2013.

The staff were friendly at all times, both in person and on the phone. They offered help with maps and directions, and held our luggage for a few days as we had a trip out to Prague before coming back through Berlin.

The rooms are comfortable, small, but fresh and newly painted etc. The beds are comfortable, but be aware that a pair of twin beds in Germany means two single beds right next to each other, so you don't have room between the beds as I'd expect from twin beds elsewhere! Also to keep in mind, the bathroom has a smoked glass sliding door, so there's not a lot of privacy.

We were in an executive room, which had the pod coffee maker - fabulous! There's a second round of housekeeping to refresh the pods for this, which was disconcerting - I rang reception on the first day as I thought housekeeping had forgotten them, but a second guy came around about 2-3pm each day to add more!

We also had a view of the Berlin TV tower, which was great. The windows opened, but since the hotel is on the corner of a main road, there's a lot of noise if the double-glazed windows are open. The aircon works okay, and is really quiet though.

The bathroom is new and fresh, with good water pressure and some toiletries available. The internet connection was okay, but not particularly fast. Good thing it was complimentary!

I ate breakfast in the restaurant one day, which was expensive (I think it was 12E if you book when you check in, or more expensive - 15? 18? otherwise) but had a lot of different continental choices - cheeses, cold meats, salmon, lots of different breads etc. We ate dinner in the Vietnamese restaurant (the breakfast area revamped) which was reasonably priced and had tasty food. I also tried the room service menu of Berlin traditional Currywurst, which tasted okay. Room service attracted a hefty surcharge but the girl at the kitchen offered to have me pick up the tray from the bar to avoid the surcharge, which was handy and still very convenient.

The area was convenient - walking distance from Alexanderplatz station, and quite a few shops.

All in all, I had a very reasonable stay at the Holiday Inn.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the tower if you haven't stayed in Berlin before.

The hotel ist in the same building as the Indigo hotel, it is very easy to go from one to the other , no need to step out. The location is very convenient for sightseeing and the subway station is a few blocks away. ( aldo taxis are very cheap in Berlin ) The rooms are of good size and have all the basic amenities . It is not luxurious but very modern, clean and has all you need. There is a (very) small gym and internet is free ( limited) . The staff was really very helpful and friendly. I would say that if the rate is the same stay at indigo as the breakfast is nicer and the room a little more luxurious but if the price is better at HI go for it . It is a really good hotel

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for five days.

Great location - close to the train station, shopping centres, good restaurants and tour bus stops.

The hotel is fairly new and modern.

Staff are friendly and attentive and most speak if not understand english.

We were upgraded to an Executive room on check in. We arrived five hours before check in, although we were given access to our room.

The bed was comfortable with separate doonas for each person - four european size pillows were on the bed also.

There is a coffee machine in the room which makes the drink hot.

View from our room was average as alot of construction going on in the area.

Heating/cooling system not working, but as cold as it was outside, the room was always warm enough.

The bathroom is a bit small and I didn't like that the bath is very high which makes it a bit dangerous when getting in and out after a shower or bath.

There is a frosted glass door on the bathroom which makes it a bit awkward when visitors come to your room and someone needs to use the toilet.

Towels are changed daily with soap, etc., replenished.

Free internet access in rooms.

Breakfast caters for all tastes - food is plentiful.

Overall a lovely stay.
